How much should we risk in the preseason? Henne's time during preseason, 50% is my vote. What's yours?

i say the first half the atl game, 1st quarter the 2nd and 3rd, and a drive or two the last game

Half of game one, a quarter of game two, a lol bit into the second half of game three, and a drive of game 4

I think the opposite. As much time as possible. He has already missed so much with the lock out. He needs game time in the new system with all the new players around him.

1 planned series for 1st game
1st qtr 2nd game
first half 3rd game
1st qtr 4th game

I heard sparano say they are getting ready for the patriots and not preseason. that means to me that all rookies and new guys significant play while they go all out in practice. Practices are closed to public so i see management putting the cabash on showing anything to the public in this offense.

To get him and the other starters as much time together, I'd say at least 50%. They have to get up to speed as fast as possible.

We all know what happened last pre-season when he got a bit too cute with the starters and Jake Long got hurt

I also remember the offense being terrible all last year. I say give Henne plenty of time. I don't see why, just since he is the starter, you wouldn't want to play him. In fact, I would think the absolute opposite is true. If we are gonna live and die with him this season, and if this is truly make or break with him (both things appear to be true), why on Earth would we not make him being ready and comfortable the absolute highest priority?

Keep him in as long as the opposing team has a first team/mix of 1st and 2nd team D in. Want him to get in a groove before the season. He played a decent amount of time last year, and got off to a decent start.

He wasn't any good at the start of last year. The teams we were facing just happened to be worse, mostly owing to Jason Allen.

I dunno, the Bills, Vikings, and Jets all had very good pass defenses last year. 3rd, 10th, 6th respectively. 3 TD, 1 INT isn't blowing me away those first 3 games, but he wasn't turning the ball over and had a 90+ qb rating. Then of course, the wheels fell off in New England. Basically I'm cool with Henne being in there, but let's keep our Longs, Marshalls, and Bess's outta there.

Except for the Jets game, the points per game from the offense was absolutely pathetic, and that was including us being thrown a bone over and over against Minnesota. The turnovers weren't a major problem yet, but averaging 17 points a game and failing to put the ball in the end zone was what doomed our season last year. And it wasn't limited to just being against teams with good pass defenses.

We debated this last year...he came out in preseason and looked like crap. So much so, he played much longer that would be normal in at least one game...clear into the second half. So, it all depends on how he performs. I could see him going into the second half a couple of times.

how bout playing him in the fourth against scrubs and if he sucks call denver quickly and give them what they want
