get weaker, the Dolphins will get stronger. The Jets suffered a great loss at QB. The Pats defense takes a huge loss with the injury of harrison. I also believe the bills lost spikes for a while.

However, our team remains healthy and we will be getting RW back, after one more game. Furthermore, being under a new system with new coaches, our team will only get better as the weeks go bye.

Right now, I think we are the front runners to win this division. The bills have major problems at QB as do the Jets. And, honestly, there is only so many losses the pats can take on defense. I thought their defense wasn't looking as good this year as they have in the past, and now they suffer another major blow. I think those losses combined with the fact, they'll be getting every teams 'best game' through the year, will catch up with them and allow us to challenge them for the division. It will come down to our record against them.

I know its early, and these are all projections based on how things are now. But, we seem to be in a good position and we'll only get better. I was excitied about this season prior to its start, now Im even more excited!

That's what i've been thinking too, but I don't want to be too confident.

Don't underestimate a hungry team .. seriously. Any given sunday. I know the injuries obviously hurt their chances, but don't count any team out.

Yes, but didn't that seem to help the Steelers, especially in the running game
where Harrison has the biggest impact.

Pats have an uncanny (coaching) ability to play beyond the injuires to their
defense, secondary in particular.

Wasn't it the secondary that was decimated last year?

Buffalo-
Takeo Spikes-Out for season
Milloy-Hurt Thumb probable
Mike Williams-Ankle
New England-
Harrison-Out for Season
NY-
Eric Barton-Ankle Sprain
Jason Fabini-Knee Sprain
Fiedler and Pennington- DONE
Martin- Knee Sprain
Miami-
Seau-Probable

We're lookin prettyy good right now considering Seau is on a Bye week to recover and isn't serious... THATTA WAY BOYS, Keep it up!

New England has overcome defensive injuries in the past and still won Super Bowls. Hell, last year their entire secondary was injured and they were still winning. I wouldn't count them out yet just because Harrison is done.

The Jets on the other hand are going to be hurting. Losing Pennington for the season was a HUGE blow. Not to mention their second stringer (who I think can still win some games in the league.) Everybody say "Hi!" to the new Jets QB, 6th round pick and third-stringer Brooks Bollinger.

As for the Bills, their defensive was already doing horrible this year WITH Takeo Spikes. I can only imagine that this will hurt them further. Don't count them out either yet.

We need to take advantage of this. Finally WE are the ones catching the breaks. Everyone was laughing at us when we lost Ricky last year, now they can finally get a taste of what it's like to lose a vital player to their teams.

Isnt Seau expected to miss a few weeks?

Todd Light may be done for the year too. NE is being quiet about it but it's reported Light may not return until late this season. Maybe now Taylor can get to Brady with a little more frequency. AFC East is wide open now.

It was, and that is one of the reasons why McNabb almost threw for 400 yards against them (I believe) in the superbowl.

They can only take so many losses on defense.

I dont feel they have really replaced their losses at LB, which, was a BIG reason why they still had good coverage in the secondary. Their LBs were very active in their drops into coverage. They were a big reason why the coaches could use such complex schemes. They've lost two of those guys and now lost Harrison. They also havent really improved their CB situation from last year. IMO, this will all add up and will be harder for them to overcome. Remember, this very same team went something like 8-8 after their first superbowl win. And that was with their great DC and OC, who they also lost this offseason.

Im not counting them out. Im saying they will take a big step back. And will be within our reach. I dont see them going 14-2 this year or anything like that.

Im not saying this based on one injury. They lost their DC, who was a great coach for them, they lost 2 LBs, they didn't really improve their secondary this offseason, they lost a DT in FA, and now they lost their toughest player on defense in Harrison.

They've come down to earth before, and I think they will again this year.

PHINZ RULE!!!

exactly! Im pumped about this season!

Also, I cant wait to see RW and RB in the same backfield and watching defenses try to slow them down.

If we motion RB or RW out of the back field, who covers him? A LB? I dont think so! Do you bring another S on the field just to cover RB or RW? If so, we can just run the ball and will have a blocking advantage. This will be AWESOME. Ive been looking forward to seeing that mismatch this season.
