My secret underground lair.
I have new hope after this crushing loss. I know that our GM is taking the steps necessary to revitalise this offense. I expect it will take at least two years for this to come to fruition. Mind you he has to make up for four years of Wanny's idiocy.

here here...this Dolphins franchise will soon be divided by pre and pst Wannstead eras...God bless Rick Speilman...If it we could trade GMs, Wanny probably would have traded him for James Jackson last month...let us cut the anchor

I want to say this about Speilman, he has not just stood their with his jaw dropped when all these things happenned, he went to work. I know sometimes people wanted him to move sooner, and at times some think he made moves to soon. (The Feeley pick-up) But he did what he thought was best for this team, and I think he was right. I am glad we didnt get Warner, or Brunnell, I want a young guy who is ready to get going that shows some great potential to lead this team for Many years to come. I dont want the quick 2 year fix with Warner or Brunnel. He also moved on Booker when he saw the Ogun thing was going nowhere, plus in that deal he got the 3rd round pick that got us Gordan next year. I love that he is being active, but yet he has been calculating, not slow to act, but sure. People wanted to rob us when we lost Ricky, and he knew it. So he waits, and waits, and when they see we arent caving in, teams forget, think we are going to live with the backs we have, and then something opens up, and he is their. I love the job Spiel is doing, and I think in 3 years, you will see an awesome Dolphin team.

I believe this is the year..If Gordon could catch and run like that only after 2 days of practice, then we are set for this year. Feely knows the offense by now but will make mistakes because of inexperience..
Hats off to Chris Foerster even though maybe Marc Tressman designed most of the plays(lol)

I cannot wait 3 years ...It's now or never...

In 3 years there will be no more Zach thomas, Pat Surtain, Sam Madison,Seau(next year), maybe Jayson Taylor...What I mean is that in 3 years we may have a good offense and the worst defense..Don't point out Tony Bua will replace Thomas and Will Poole can replace Surtain. This is experience right there, it will take them a while to become like these pro-bowlers..:yell:

I CANNOT WAIT 3 YEARS...WE WILL BE FINE THIS YEAR..TRUST ME.

I see the offense getting good maybe by the last six games of this year, but really I can't see it being dominant until next year. There's still some pieces that need to fall into place:

1: This O-line needs time to gel. They need to know if the current starters are the ones to play out year. If they are not it may take 6-7 games before a replacement takes hold and we have some idea who our official O-line is.

2: Feeley needs reps. The competition was a joke. Wanny hamstrung Feeley from the start and should have been giving him first team reps all the way from quarterback school. Now he's got to make up for time lost.

3: David Boston returning to the team in full health. This is a big if and not happening this year. But Chambers, Booker and Boston is a great group of receivers that I think any team would take.....Oh yeah and of course McMicheal.

4: Wanny must be fired. He is an anchor dropping the team to mediocrity. The run first policy is a thing of the past. You run to set-up the pass not the other way around. We had a dominant runner for two years but in games that we needed it the passing wasn't there to bail us out. But did he change no.

5: Our new head coach arrives.

I am just happy Spielman has given our O a potential future with youth. A shame that its right at the edge of our D nearing it's last days together.

I think he deserves a lot of respect for giving us players to excel with after losing Ricky and Boston with Booker and Gordon.

This on the eve of training camp no less.

I think we should have gone after Collins, Warner, Brunell or Garcia. But its to late now. I think rick has done good moves, But we could be in trouble at runningback and quarterback. Feeley played well, but he aint taking us to the playoffs. I think Fiedler will be back in by week 3 or 4 and he will kick ***.

Hey, if he kicks ***, then awesom. In the meantime, :roflmao:

Why is is that AJ wont lead us to the playoffs, yet Jay, judging on your guess that he will kick ***, can?

He couldn't do it with #34 behind us, what in the hell would make you think he could do it now?

Jay has been playing here for four years, and he played worse on Sunday than he did in his first game as a Dolphin against the Seahawks in 2000. I and Joe Theisman once believed he could possibly become a Pro Bowl quarterback with the bread and butter of play action and Ricky behind him. Now I realize me and Joe were idiots.

By tht you mean JT, ZT and Surtain falling off or being gone. Surprisingly I believe that Rick has shorn up some positions on defense this year that will help down the road. Howard and Poole are great players. Our defense held the Titans to 73 yards passing. Edwards at free safety is another decent pickup. I expect a youth movement on our D-line by next years draft JT will play for years but T-BO may be on his last legs, a young athletic defensive tackle might be right up our alley.

I mean that they may be falling off soon. Especially Madison and Zach. I think Taylor and Surtain will last a bit longer. Hopefully while declining mildly from elite to not elite, they can steer the young talent like Poole and Bua.

You make a good point reminding me of the young talent we got this year in the draft on D, and in later rounds no less. If Poole is as promising as he looks, we can cover the loss of Madsion soon enough. And with 8 LB's, we just might be ok in that position as Seau likely retires next year. Let's hope Spielman is consistent in his talent evaluation in the following drafts.

One more thing, although we held the Titans to 73yds passing, I dont think its a fair to say this was completely due to Dolphins DB play. McNair only attempted like 13 passes, and completed a good majority of those. And no doubt the lack of attempts was due to the 180+yds on the ground. They didnt have to pass to win. So let's reserve judgement on how much Poole and Howard affect DB play untill a few weeks.

Good point. But I thought Howard played well last year for Carolina. And what little we've seen of Poole, he has shown promise.

Other young defensive players of the future that should also be mentioned are Eddie Moore (probably replaces Seau). Yeremiah Bell(replaces Sammy Knight?, who is a free agent after this year) and Derrick Pope(MLB- perhaps the replacement for Zach Thomas). I don't know that Bua will be a starting LB, as he is only 212 pounds or so. He may be a Larry Izzo special teams type guy. But throw in Poole, Reggie Howard, and we have viable repalcements for half this defense. Also, it shouldn't be tough to re-sign Morlon Greenwood, who is solid. Right there we have 6 potential starters.

If spielman ends up with another #1 from ricky runsaway, then look out! spielman will get us a QB and a LT. RB will come through Free agency early. some vets will be gone from this team unless they redo their contracts. dont be surprised to see surtain gone, i hear he has a degenerative knee. shhhhhhh!

I think Feeley was worth the 2nd round pick if philly was not budging. I think people are way too overreactive to this. How many busts come in the second round? we could be here all day if we truly answered that one. I think Feeley will be fine in the long haul. its everything else i worry about. Feeley cant do it all himself. it takes 10 other guys too.
