Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE visits with Dolphins

I have to say I like Ebron and Niklas much better. Amaro I have soured on.

I know you and others really like Niklas, but I hate to say this as I'm a Domer, but I really don't get the hype on Niklas.

I see a 'laboured' player who takes time to get going in as far as his movement. From a blocking stand point, I see him as a product of system/calls & style of running game of ND.

He's a decent player, but for me - I don't see him any higher than a low 3rd, if not 4th.

I see a lot people have him as the 3rd ranked tight end. If we go line with the 1st pick he may be option, whereas Ebron will be gone before our 1st pick, IMO. Though Jenkins did just have surgery on his ankle in Feb. and had a DUI last year, couple of red flags.

Award winner was informed that doctors had discovered a pre-existing injury and that he was not medically cleared to participate.

In an interview given to the NFL Network after the tight end workouts ended last Saturday, Seferian-Jenkins sounded understandably disappointed. "Everything is good," he said. "I'm fine." He acknowledged to the Seattle Times on Monday, however, that he was "glad they found it," and that now he'd "finally found out why my foot was hurting all year." After a consultation with agents, Todd France and Brian Ayrault of Five Star Athlete Management and family, Seferian-Jenkins opted for surgery to repair the issue. The expected recovery is approximately eight weeks, which makes it unlikely he'll be able to participate in Washington's Pro Day, April 2. Those close to Seferian-Jenkins weren't willing to count out the possibility of a later workout should he prove a quick healer. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

I love this kid. I was even higher on him last year. Obviously Ebron is a specimen but were not trading up for him unless its like 2 -3 picks.
Jenkins would be a steal in the second round. Don't see him lasting to our pick though.

To me Zach Martin in the first and Jenkins in the second is best case scenario.

Fiedorowicz of Iowa I also like. Does all things well.

I like ASJ. He has a foot injury and may slip, but he's a good all around football player. He lacks the true speed you'd like as a seam threat, but he has the length you want in the red zone, he's a natural hands catcher, and he can block so he is a 3 down player who disguises run/pass. He is the type of TE that Lazor likes. Niklas is as well.

Ebron is just a big vertical threat and if he reaches his potential will be a Vernon Davis type mismatch, ditto for the troubled Colt Lyerla. Neither really profiles as Lazor type TE's, but both have a ton of talent.

The outlier is Jace Amaro. Kinda like Welker, he's just gifted at getting open and catching the ball. Forget the numbers, the guy will produce. Yes, he is 6'5 and runs fast for a TE, he can be a seam threat because of those two things and a red zone threat. But, what really stands out is that he knows how to get open and how to catch the ball. He presents a large target, has enough speed to beat LB's and size to present problems for DB's. He's not a great blocker, and he seems to play a tad soft. There's a lot to like and a lot to dislike. In such a talent-packed draft, he might slip. I've seen projects putting him in the teens, and other projections putting him in the 2nd round. If he's available at our 2nd rounder, we should draft him.

I fully expect the Patriots to draft one of Amaro, ASJ or Niklas. It's a position of need and at least 1 will be available for them.

ASJ would help in the red area though.

ASJ has character issues; This may be the phins doing serious due diligence.

I wou;d not be upset if the phins drafted him @ #50 but prefer Gilmore (Colorado St) in the 4th.

That said, I kept up on UW's pro day as I am real intrigued by Sankey. He possibly will be off the board by #50. Price is an interesting project. Better than J Rodgers or Devlin.

The Safety can't recall his name was interesting but it Smith (WR) who could be a diamond in the rough... definitely not an acorn.

ASJ would be a 2nd round pick. Apart from Ebron no other TE is a first round grade.

Jace had a terrible combine and likely drops him.

ASJ seems like a solid TE but nothing special.

Nikolas kid out of ND looks like a project player that will take time to fully develop.

Unless Keller makes a remarkably quick recovery (unlikely), I think that it is likely that we draft another TE. I think that this will make 4 years in a row.
Clay did damn well last year and has some further upside but it would be nice to have a big guy who's a real seam weapon. I don't follow college football close enough to say definitively who is best of those available but Seferian-Jenkins, Ebron, Amaro and Niklas all sound pretty good. I bow to your knowledge if you strongly prefer one ahead of the others.
They expect Ebron to go pretty high and our other needs are bigger, but I can see us selecting a TE in round 3.
When you have Clay, Sims and Egnew all with some upside, it would be nice to have the luxury of getting another weapon. Checking out TE's is a bit like test driving sportscars. One would like a new Lamborghini, Ferrari or Maserati but it might be smarter to buy a truck.

awsome i think ASJ may be the best wellrounded te in the draft, and i want him in miami

Where does Dion Sims play in the tight end spot this year guys ?
