http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/33108/awaiting-word-on-tony-sparanoMIAMI -- Tony Sparano lost his ninth straight game as Dolphins head coach Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Now, the waiting game begins to see if he's the first coach to lose his job this season.
It's not a matter of "if" but "when" Sparano will get fired. It could come as early as this week. Reports recently surfaced that Denver was a must-win game for the embattled coach. Instead, Miami blew a 15-point, fourth-quarter lead at home to suffer an embarrassing, 18-15, overtime defeat.
Sparano has been given every chance to turn Miami around by Dolphins (0-6) owner Stephen Ross, who was at the game.
"I have not talked to Steve Ross," Sparano said after the loss.
Expect there to be internal conversations on Miami's future this week. Miami is going nowhere this year, and it doesn't appear the Dolphins will be favored to get their first win any time soon.
The Dolphins play their next two games on the road against the New York Giants (4-2) and Kansas City Chiefs (3-3).
