I mean the start of this article was pretty ****ty.
First he lists LB as our "top" priority . . . ok, I can live with that statement. Yet he lists a bunch of 3-4 OLBs as the top free agents, and then says he'd love to draft Shaq Thompson . . . a guy suited to play where Jenkins is and also a guy who could be better suited at 2 other positions (RB and Safety). Have we not watched Dion Jordan for 2 years . . . oh yea thats right we have not, because the dude can barely see the field due to the scheme fit and what we are asking him to do.
Then like others have pointed out, he did not list WR as a priority. It was a priority before yesterday, it damn sure is now. I don't think people realize, you have a QB entering his "fourth season" and people are murmuring about $100 million contract . . . you gotta get this kid some weapons on the field and continue to allow this kid to grow and get better. We can't afford to watch Tannehill take steps back in his 4th season. He's not carrying this team by himself, he is not Dan Marino, and even Marino always had quality WRs on the outside. You go into this season with Landry and Matthews as top guys, I have a problem with that.
He calls Odrick a tweener, I mean thats a little unfair. What Odrick does best is DT in a 4-3 and that is what we run. . . . Dion Jordan is the definition of a tweener. He does ask for Shelton, but he isn't dropping that far.
He doesn't think we need to spend top dollar on a free agent guard, and I wish we wouldn't . . . but I'm about to commit elite money to my QB, I need to make sure that I feel comfortable knowing if I surround this kid with talent on his offensive line and at the skill positions, that he has the intangible ability as a leader and as a player to get my team to where we want to be. I don't learn that by short changing him on pieces in 2015.
Safety on this list over WR, thats a bit puzzling . . . although it certainly is a need, I'm hoping we resign Louis Delmas, and rely in some young guys as depth . . . . Thomas/Kovacs/Aikens
I dunno, just not a great article to me, but always appreciate the reads from outside opinions.
