Ok I was in a bar in New Orleans with 2 other Fins fans surrounded by rabid Saints Who Dats and I was so embarrassed.
Yes, Ginn sucks. He sucked from day one. Yes, he hurt them. He has hurt them in every game. He's trash and they need to send him home for the season. Let Ricky catch punts - at least he can run forward.
However, that said, the real problem in the Saints game was the play calling after the half. Ricky had a total of 9 carries! A man with 3 touch downs was on the sideline for entire an entire series multiple times!
Since when did the coaches believe Henne was Marino? PASS PASS PASS. How many 3-and-outs did they have with 3 straight passes in the second half BEFORE THEY WERE BEHIND?
ABYSMAL.
And the unbelievable second half defensive play calls. Just stunning. Repeatedly they had 8 men on the line. Jason Taylor could get to Brees with only 3 men down because the RECEIVERS WERE COVERED. Then repeatedly they play 5-9 men (9 men?!) on the line and they get bupkis.
THIS IS DREW BREES, NOT DREW HENSON. Would you sell-out blitz P Manning down after down? Only if you took a bet that Manning was going to get more than 9 TDs in a game. Why do it with Brees? He's damn near as good!
SIMPLY BLEW MY MIND. The play calling on both sides of the ball after the half was SCREAMING to the Saints that the Dolphins coaches were SCARED out of their MINDS - with a lead! With a lead and with a killer running game!
And yeah, the Wildcat wasn't working against the Saints - but off tackled draws were stomping them, and runs up the middle were getting 4 yards a pop.
Seriously, I _will not_ watch the next Dolphins game out of fear that I will again be humiliated by a coaching staff that clearly does NOT understand how football works or what their personnel is good for.
