B Marsh Says Philbin wanted the trade

The West Coast passing offense is built around timing. WRs need to be able to run perfect routes and catch the ball. Marshall HIMSELF said that season that he does not do either well.

Considering that and the fact that he has severe mental problems, why would anyone be surprised that we traded him?

Philbin wants character guys just like he had in green bay. I'm as pissed as anyone when Marshall was traded but I believe if we can land manningham that would be a good start to a rebuild

Manningham isn't a character guy, he doesn't have marshall's problems but he's not Greg jennings either.

I have no problems with marshall being traded, I have problems with our FO having months to prepare for this trade and we have no plan in place for a #1 WR.

No need to jump down the OPs throat.

He got access to some info which probably won't come out for a good few days and was decent enough to share it with us ...

Agree, people get off the OP's back. This "inside" info doesn't come our way that often. I happen to enjoy it and it is very easy to tell who is bull sh**ing us and who really knows what there talking about. This OP is not BSing us.

I dont give two sh*ts what Philbin wants. You don't hire a coach with zero head coaching experience who tells you I want to trade your best offensive player because I only like high character guys. And it doesn't matter if Philbin wanted him gone, Philbin doesn't make the trades. Ireland makes the trades, and the owner hired a coach who wanted to get rid of our best player even though the result is the leagues worst receiving core - with NO PLAN TO REPLACE HIM IN FREE AGENCY BC ALL THE GOOD RECEIVERS ARE GONE

Actually, you do. You want the coach to put his stamp on the team.

It sounds more or less right to me. Truth be told, Marshall probably wasn't very happy about Philbin's system (propbably why he asked Philbin the question) and in the end would have caused us more trouble than he would have been worth. The 2 number 3's though, were probably a direct result of Marshall's NY night club adventures.

Actually I don't. I have a big problem with a rookie coach coming in and trading our best offensive player when the next two non-slot receivers behind him are Brian Hartline and Clyde Gates. Cam Camerons stamp on the team was Ted Ginn Jr. I couldn't care less about the head coaches stamp if that means we are going to lose. We've been losing for years now, and rebuilding. Its time to win, and you aren't making your team better by coming in and trading the best receiver without a backup plan. Bottom line is this - Joe Philbin hasn't proven anything yet. If he flops and we go two years of mediocrity while Brandon Marshall continues to put up pro bowl numbers, I am not going to say well at least Philbin put his stamp on this team.

BM has ZERO credibilty - his words mean nothing - in every instance he will cover his ass because that has been his life story so whether it comes from you, BMs accountant friend or Aunt - whatever BM says means diddly squat - and as far as how long your blood boils organge - spare me

i hope b marsh is great for the bears. And philbin stinks. if this is true this franchise ****ed up. I hate the owner, GM, and Old ass coach.

How does anyone know there isn't a plan in place to replace the criminal ball dropping diva? Why because it didn't happened the second psycho was traded. I'll rip them if after the draft if it hasn't been done.

This. If Marshall didn't fit what he wanted, then you get rid of him. You don't keep trying to cram players down coaches throats when they don't fit.

And another thing, I'm 100% sure that marshall always tell the truth to everybody. You know, considering he is such a high character guy and all.

Not sure why everyone is so up in arms about our #1 receiver who couldn't manage to score TD or catch the ball, not to mention manage to stay on his feet more than 2 seconds after catching it. So..Philbin didn't want a non productive wife beater? Can't blame em.

I'm sure we could bring up 200 threads about wanting to trade Marshall right around week 8 of last year. It's not like his price went up after his seasons here..regardless if he hit 1000 yards or not.

Not trying to be a downer today, but very discouraged. Marshall may have dropped a lot of passes last year, but he was a probowl receiver. When was the last time the Dolphins have had a pro bowl receiver? Chris Chambers? And Chambers was a mediocre receiver. My issue isn't so much trading him as getting practically nothin gin return for a probowl guy in his prime, with no receivers to step in

Sure He has his problems but 1000 yard recievers dont just come a dine a dozen.
I agree he prob wont fit into the system. I'm not upset that we traded him so much because of that. I'm pissed that we traded our #1 WR to the Bears to be come their #1 WR and all we got was a 2 3rd's.
Some will argue that 2 3rds = 1 2nd. BS - I dont go by the chart after the 2nd round.
We couldnt even get a 3rd that becomes a 2nd if he leads the team in yards or gets 100 yards or two seconds if he gets a 1000 yards and the team makes the playoffs.?????

He is their #1 WR for god's sake.....
We just got robbed,,,, thats all I'm saying.
