B Marsh Says Philbin wanted the trade

Marshall uses his SODDI (Some Other Dude Did It) defense once again!!

Blames it on Philbin & had nothing to do with him .... noooooooooo, not me!!

P.S ^^ "but the timing befuddles me" ... negotiations in progress, Chicago probably had that offer on the table ... IMHO, the moment FO heard of Marshall Incident, they called the first minute in the morning to accept it (before Chicago caught wind of it). Highly probable!!

The assumtion is, that POS was our BEST player. Well f**k that. That guy cost us more wins than games he won for us(7 dropped TD's)... and was always in trouble. We have a coach in place that recognised that and got something for a headache. The previous regime spent a fourtune for him and with their past mis-cues could not admit that they made another mistake. 2-3rd rounders is not much but the problem is gone, and not like our previous 2nd rounders gone, we got something in return. Good riddance.

looks like we will have to hurry up and wait to see what these "plans" are.i hope he realizes phins fans are getting extremely impatient and rightfully so.

Marshall was a top 10 talent at WR, guy just needs to get his head on straight. It sucks, I was so pumped when we got him and finally brought in a WR worth a damn. I was saddened and disapointed to see him go, he'll always be one of my favorite WR's.

I don't believe a word of this, particularly the part in bold. A coach in the mold of Philbin, and particularly where he is in his tenure, is not going to play that hand.

Precisely what I thought. Furthermore, why in the world would Philbin tell the player that he's not in his plans. I don't believe a word of this; sorry OP.

This happens all over the NFL team or Player wants a trade and it happens. The difference between Miami and other teams is usually there is a plan in place to replace the player you are trading.

Exactly. This is what got me upset about the Marshall trade. My guess is they are going to try and hit in the draft on a WR and hope he turns out to be a stud

and it's aqua, not teal

I can't agree more. Do these supposed Dolphin fans even know the colors of their team. The Marlin's wore teal. The dolphin's have always been the "Aqua and Orange" Gezzz people get it right.

the Dolphins are not in a space where they can say "you punched a woman, get out". We need all the good players we can get...its time to stop passing up on great players and stop signing guys for depth. Buffalo just got Mario Williams, and the Patriots are interviewing Laron Landry. I mean, really?

We got two third round picks for a pro bowl receiver in his prime. We should have got at least two 2nd rounders. We low-ball Eric Winston, and we dont do much with Peyton Manning. This is disgusting; I love my team but I dont love how its being run.

the thing everybody needs to remember is PHILBIN DOES NOT CONTROL THE PERSONEL!!!

remember the pecking order layed out to us all after philbins signing? he coaches the team and decides who plays.

IRELAND is in charge of ALL player movement and signings. draft, free agency, walk ons, etc.....

so all this PHILBINS PLAN, and PHILBIN BETTER DO THIS is all bunk, it has no merit as he has NO CONTROL OVER PERSONEL!! NOTHING!! NADA!! ZERO!!!

now, he can express an opinion or relate whats already been layed out by ireland, but he HAD NOTHING TO DO with booting marshall. i am sure marshalls exit was planned before philbin signed.

GET WITH THE PICTURE PEOPLE AND GET UP TO SPEED on how this team is structured and who does what. it will chop off some of these rant posts that have no basis in fact.

Like always whan I get something to share - I post.

Got a friend that has B Marsh as a client (Unfootball related). I acually didnt even know Marsh was a client of his. Last night me and my boy got together to watche the games and the Marshall trade came up. He says that he was with B Marsh on Wed. and they talked about the trade.

According to Marshall - he went to Philbin and asked what his plans were for the #1 WR. Philbin reply to him was who is the #1WR? and he was told that Miami did not think he would fit into their plans.

The trade had nothing to do with the incident in NY. The trade was developed well in advance.

Now I dont know what the plans are but right now they are not looking good.
I dont think Philbin would have the authority to just say "I dont want the best WR on the team here any more" and they just trade him away
I dont know if the plans include P Manning
I dont know anything other then what I just posted above.

But i will tell you this, WHATEVER it is that Philbin has planned it better work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to question his judgement and I have to believe there is no plans to win now.

I'mk not sure how long my blood will remain orange and teal...

No there is no link to this!!!!!!!!!!
No this is no rumor!!!!!!!!!!
No this is not my opinon!!!!!!!
Those that know me know I dont post BS false things............
just figured I would share what info I got on this.

Is your friend Brandon's parole officer???

I do think Marshall's end zone dropsies cost Moore about 2 games, maybe would have put us into position to play the jest in the familiar post season backdoor game 16, and possibly preempted any talk of Flynn (although Manning would still have been very compelling regardless). However, be that as it may, he was our best WR by far, kept the D honest (as did Teddy Ginn) and personally I'd have rolled with whatever suspension the league meted out to keep him instead of essentially giving him away.

As far as the rhetoric, I don't believe it at all and think it's Marshall's attempt at revisionist history, perhaps as a reaction to his discomfort with Philbin's comments or observations in regard to taking him to task.. :idk:

Good decision by Philbin. I am wistful and sad at the lost potential, but the reality is B Marshall is not a disciplined route runner. He frequently Adkins, and the lack of disciplined route running damages the development of an offense as a whole. I remember how many times Henne or Moore had a bemused look on their faces as he changed routes. Philbin's decision allows the Dolphin offense to be a system capable of integrating receivers easily. A B. Marshall based system only works well when B Marshall is in the lineup. No other receiver can replicate his erratic, anti-team, least path of resistant decision making.

People whining about Marshall... meh... The guy turns into Superman when the game doesn't count. The guy collected 30+ mil from the organization to drop more balls than he caught.

See ya. Good luck in Chicago.
