i wanted to let all of you know what i did to get my $$ back for missing the Dolphins game this weekend. I emailed diect tv and discussed my dissatisfaction with missing the game..
they called me today and i told them that even though they couldnt fix the Miami game situation that they as a monopoly had the responsibility to make the NFL improve thier service and also had part of the responsibility to make CBS and all future affiliates record all nfl games in HD.

they offered me 5$ off my next 6 months...
i complained that i overpaid for my sunday ticket with superfan by about 150$
they asked me what would make it right..

i left with 6 months HBO, Showtime, and the 5$ off

fight the man!

Who'd you email? I had no such luck....:(

you can call there customer service and skip the email.. .the point is..
i was reasonable with them...
i aknowledged that i still had to pay for the sunday ticket and superfan
but i told them that they were bad consumers and should demand as a company that the nfl get its act together for the future.
then i told them that while i was a dolphins fan that it would just be better for me to either watch the local team or go to a sports bar...
i said it was a matter that i didnt feel i was getting what i paid for...
i think this is important because i'm saying "its about the $$ "
then when they offered me something cheep i said it would have to be more

You have to speak up with these guys.....if you threaten to drop or cancel your service they usually will bend over backwards not to let this happen. I had DirecTV a few years ago and told them I was going to cancel because of a similar problem and they upgraded my service to get the HBO and Movie Channels free for three months. If you paid for the NFL Ticket you should get what you paid for.

:yeahthat:

My Grandpa did this earlier (internet wasn't working here in S. Florida from hurricane so I couldn't post), he just threatened to cancel his DTV services altogether. Not exactly sure, but they either gave him $5 like someone above said, but I thought I heard him say $25, not sure though.
