Hello fellow finheavener's. I just graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard boot camp yesterday. feels good to be home. I was just wondering if one of you or one of the moderators here could fill me in on everything i missed out on in the last 2 months. i have been gone since april 10th. so i missed the draft and minicamps and june cuts and all that other good stuff. I missed coming to this site everyday and reading up on the dolphins. Especially with the draft, i want to to know all the positives and negatives about the guys we got and what you all think about them. This would be greatly appreciated if one of you could do this for me. I cant wait to start protecting your coasts and serving my country. Go phins!

Hey Congrates buddy!

I'll fill you in we had about 2 months of T.O. related threads, Then there was the trade up for Cutler spot light. My personal favorite was the Brees and Culpepper debates.

You really didn't miss anything ground breaking.

Well, we drafted Jason Allen, Derek Hagan, Joe Toledo, Fred Evans, Rodrique Wright and Devin Aromashodu.
 
im sure you prolly know we traded for culpepper and joey harrington, and ricky got suspened again and is now playing for the cfl, you did know that right????????,lol
 
Well, let's see....

We drafted Jason Allen (CB/S), Derek Hagan (WR), Joe Toledo (OT/OG), Fred Evans (DT), Rodrique Wright (DT), and Devon Aromashodu (WR).

We signed Steve Fifita (NT), Chris McNeil (C), Ben Ishola (DE/LB), Trent Bray (LB), Sam McGrew (LB), Thomas Olmsted (P), Justin Holland (QB), Marcus Vick (QB/WR/Specialist), Gerald Riggs Jr. (RB), and Eric Kimble (WR) as undrafted free agents.

We signed LB Keith Newman, OT Mike Pearson, WR Fred Murphy, CB Michael Lehan, and TE Keith Heinrich.

Galaxy won the World Bowl in NFL Europe. Part of the two teams who played (Galaxy and Admirals) include CB Art Thomas (Admiral) and LB Matt Sinclair (Galaxy), both allocated Dolphins.

We're going after LB Courtney Watson and RB Michael Bennet, both from the Saints. We had a trade with Courtney Watson, but it was nullified when Eddie Moore failed the Saints' physical.

Daunte Culpepper is doing great with rehab, even scrambling during the OTA's. Joey Harrington is picking things up as well as Cleo Lemon.

And that's just the top of my head....

Daunte culepepper is pretty well ahead of shedule and is looking good........He has taking a leadership role with the team and had the offense over to his house to play catch one day as well as been seen hanging out w/ teammates at many of the miami heat playoff games...lol...seems he is already running on his leg and participating in all the drills in camp! So all is good w/ Culepepper.....We finally completed a trade for Joey Harrington for a conditional pick next year!

All in all a great draft as well. saban picked up Jason allen in the first he is a corner/saftey type with exceptional speed and already earning praise in camp from some of the vets Then we picked up derek hagan who is a wr and looks to be our 3rd reciever and eventual replacement for booker....we also got a gem in the 7th round with DT Rod Wright he was formally projected as a first/2nd/3rd but fell b/c of a shoulder injury(he didnt even know he had it)now he just had surgey on it and is already rehabilitating Devon Aromashodu was another seventh rounder who has big play potential very fast streches the d well.......Oh and we signed Marcus vick to an undrafted fa contract and seems he is projecting as a WR/QB/Specialist if he even makes the team.

The two big FA aqusitions were :OLB Keith newman minnesota and OT Mike pearson Jaksonville

Ricky once again has been supended for violating the leagues supstance abuse policy and has signed with CFL team and just played his first game and stunk it up with- 4 carries for 7 Yds

Last but not least our big hole still to fill would be OLB but looks like we are interested in Ahmad brooks in the upcoming supplemental draft looks as if he may cost any where between a 2nd and 3rd probaly tho.

What's up bro, congrats on the big achievment. We got some good people in the draft and the way things are shapping up, it looks like we are going to have a good team. Derek Hagan is going to be our future #2 receiver and think he's going to be a stud. The supplemental draft is coming up and i think we should take a shot at him. He's big linebacker that make our team even better if he's in shape. Welcome back Phin Hermano!
 
Welcome home!! hey what do you think of the Coast Gaurd so far ? cuz I may be interested!

To kinda sum it up in my own special way... Nick Saban turned this team from the one people were kicking while it's down.. to the one everyone is trying to hold down. He hasn't even been here a year yet either. The table is almost set for this team to flourish into a powerhouse. 1 more offseason for Nick... then start buying SB tix.

Zack Thomas retired and we traded Jason Taylor for 2 future 1st round draft picks.
 
thanks alot guys. Got me all excited again. and yes, coast guard has a bootcamp and let me tell u somethin, its ranked 2nd hardest out of all the bootcamps, 2nd to marines. But neways, thanks for the heads up and the congrats. :dolphins:
