Here's some thoughts from the game:

You can tell Saban does a good job of getting the players ready for the game based on the pre-game warm ups. The Dolphins players looked more organized and efficient than the Chiefs players during the pre-game warm-ups.

Yeremiah Bell is by far the best player in the secondary. I dont know how Travares Tillman was starting ahead of him for so long.

We got robbed on the Ronnie Brown TD pass. They showed the replay a million times, and Chambers was definately forced out.

Ronnie needs to stop dancing and just run downhill, he did better as the game went on.

Joey played decent; it's not easy to throw against Surtain and Law, but the Chiefs still should of had 2 INTs.

Chambers looks like a very good athlete, he should be more productive than he is. Not all his fault.

I saw so many trick plays I was about to throw up.:barf: The plays shouldn't even be called "trick" plays because it has become the norm. Mularkey has created the "trick play offense" and it sux!!!!

Late in the 4th quarter the Chiefs were bringing everyone close to the line of scrimimage and instead of throwing it deep to Chris "decoy" Chambers we throw it deep to our slower receiver Booker!!?? Because Booker doesn't have deep speed, the safety caught up and almost (should've) picked it.

I agree with all your points, but you will get flammed for this statement.

You see what I'm saying?

The drop stat is ridiculous. If the ball touches your fingertips, it's considerd a drop and Chris gets a lot of those because he has an amazing ability to go up and get the ball.

Of course the drops are his fault but I think Mularkey is using CC as a decoy too much. The Dolphins knew that Tony G was KCs only passing threat but they still kept throwing to him. Mularkey doesn't have to trick the Defense on every play.

Aqua, I know you've long been a defender for Chris. That's ok. I defend my favorite players too. I defend Marino. I defend Ronnie. I defend Zach. I defend Jason, etc. etc. However, I can always agree with those "nay-sayers" about facts or "chinks" in the armor of my favorite players. The same holds true for Chambers. Some things just aren't his fault. He can't help when Joey underthrows him when he's open. He can't help when Daunte Culpepper doesn't see him, or doesn't have time to get the ball to him, etc. However, what makes the great players "great" is their ability to get in the game even when things aren't going their way. Chris Chambers doesn't have that ability. He loses focus. I've watched games where he gives up on routes, etc. I'm not mad about that. That is the norm these days for WRs. They are in their own little worlds. However, I don't see how you can defend Chambers against the fact that he isn't the dominant/#1 WR we thought he would be this year, he does have lapses of concentration where he drops balls, misses blocks, etc. It's a problem. However, it's not the biggest problem on our team...that is for certain.

Back to the orginal statement and moreso arguing the last point. Marty Booker had actually beaten Ty Law on that play. They showed some replays of it. The ball had too much air under it, and it was underthrown and it allowed the Safety #44 time to recover and almost intercept the ball. Again, had the ball been thrown accurately, it would have been a TD.

I agree though. They should have taken more shots downfield in the 2nd half with Chambers. Marty Booker isn't as slow as you think. Look at his 40 times and his other combine numbers (cone drills, shuttle, etc.) and you'll find he's pretty fast and pretty quick. Not Chambers fast or quick, but much moreso than Ty Law at Law's stage in his career. We had a favorable matchup with Booker against Law in my opinion.

did the stadium seem really quiet and empty? It seemed that way on tv

rdhstlr23: You're right. Chambers just drop some easy catches some times and I will admit that. But I think there is just too much blame placed on him. He has done something that I guarentee no other top WR has done. 6th year, 5th OC and on his 8th QB. Do you know how hard that must be on the guy? Not to mention most of those QBs could never get him the ball. I also feel he isn't utilized like he should be (the way Linehan used him last year.) And lastly, I don't think we should look at drop stats. As I said, they give you a drop for getting a fingertip on it and that's ridiculous.

no , plenty loud. It was not full tho, they said 74+thousand on the big screen, didn't look it

Isn't Chambers leading the league in dropped passes?

i'd have to defend chambers on this one .. he has tremendous ability to attack the ball at the highest point .. some are drops but some are tips that would sail over many Wrs heads and chambers still gets up to attempt on the ball

and NO T.O. is leading in drops .. especially ones that could seal the game or get them back in it

No, that would happen to be T.O. that leads in dropped passes. :-)

ROFL are you serious? I know it was Chambers at one point but damn that drop by T.O. last week cost Dallas the game

no..actually the place was pretty loud and fun

I noticed the refs let Tony Gonzales push off many times during the game...on the long reception he had and the INT that the refs ruled hit the ground, Tony clearly interfered with our DB, but no flag was thrown, did anyone else notice this?
