Back on the Fireland train

No worries. Randy Starks is in a contract year. Ireland is sure to reward his play today. He did dress out and step on the field, didn't he? So I am sure he's gonna get the big bucks.

To be fair, games like today's just drive home the point that neither Randy Starks nor Paul Soliai deserve a huge money contract.

Not only should Ireland be fired for his awful drafts and complete NEGLECT for the Oline, he should be fired for mortgaging the future on LBs who can't stop the run. Now we probably won't be able to afford to re-sign Starks and Soliai, so the best unit on the team will become weaker next season, especially against the run. Then those overpriced LBs will get exposed even more.

Agreed. It took me a long time to get on the fireland train, but now that I am on it, I am not getting off because that train has already left the station. Ross and his dolphin talking heads can sugar coat things all they want, but dolfans know the truth. The house of cards has just collapsed and the illusion of a so-called playoff team exposed.

As for Gaines, with respect, I am not sure he can evaluate OL talent either. Time to start fresh with a GM and supporting cast who can ID successful O-linemen and D-linemen.

I would go with Gaine only because I don't want offsetting GM / HC hires again... Gaine would be a one year tryout and if they fail again start fresh with a whole new regime

Cant even troll that, laughing to hard. :sidelol:

I asked this in "Stang67's" thread, "Can Ross afford to do nothing when it comes to Ireland and/or Philbin with such a humiliating loss?" I mean, we weren't even close to being competitive and most dolfans are pissed!

Most Dolfans have been pissed for years, not only did management not give a **** but other fans blamed them for the teams losses. Ross was on record for being utterly baffled why season tickets were selling this past offseason.

We have a terrible owner. No other explanation needed.

He's only had 6 drafts, he just needs more time. Dont you know the "right" way to build a competitor is to keep a bad employees until they suddenly, like a lightning strike, become competent. We just havent waited long enough!!1!

We only need 4 OL's...he should be able to fix it up just fine in the offseason...it's not like he has had a chance to do it yet!

Well the O-line was suspect before the season even started but the bigger disappointment is this D-line that was supposed to be so dominating and it's not.

the D line is average at best. i guess people were watching it in practice against our O line and thats why they thought it was great. its not.

The DL is stout for the most part, and they do have some pass rush talent. I can't get on the D too much for a game like this where the offense is utterly dominated. That D was on the field the entire game.

I am sick of giving up huge 3rd downs however.

Yep, the nuances between running an investment oriented business and a product oriented business must be bigger than Ross imagined.

The offensive gameplan was pretty sorry to combat a fierce pass rush, I'll give you that, but there is still no excuse for this sorry OL. And this running game is an absolute joke.

And yet we were able to beat the Jets, Steelers and Patriots with the same sorry O-Line and awful running attack. And a few other teams found ways to beat the Bills juggernaut this year.

There are very great teams in the NFL anymore. Heck, I think the quality of the play all around the league this season has been as bad as I can remember. But you have to have guys emotionally ready to play in a game like this. We didn't come out flat. We came out horrible. We had no fire. We didn't seem to make any adjustments during the game. You better have a freaking genius as your head coach if he can't get 50 guys up when they just need to beat two inferior division rivals to make the postseason. They just rolled over.

Love how you guys blame ireland that philbin cant get a team ready to save his life

Most of our losses this year were directly attributable to OL miscues and performance. If the OL were even pedestrian this year we probably would have won the division.

I am not a big Philbin fan and I think he had a hand in many of our losses as well, but if I had to give one reason why the Dolphins missed the playoffs, it would be the OL. The Bills just happen to have a DL so fierce that it just utterly exposes the bad OL
