Back to big-play Booker?

As much as i agree with you and have faith in Bookers ability, saying we have 2 pro bowl recievers is like saying we had a pro bowl reciever when Cris Carter was on our roster.
Booker hasnt made the pro bowl in 4 years and until he steps up again, he cant be labelled as a pro bowl WR

Booker's best days are behind him, but I still think he will be a great second receiver for us. It is not inconceivable that he could still play at a pro bowl level, especially if defenses pay too much attention to Chris Chambers.

We had SH$T QB's for the last 6 years! Chambers made them look decent, as did all of those dump off passes to Ricky and those 3 yard completions on 3rd and 7.

we had defences playng 8 and sometimes 9 in the box. Most of the time they doubled Chambers and keyed on Ricky and played man Booker and all other options. A GOOD QB would make them pay for that. Our QB's saw the open guy, threw to the open guy and missed the open guy.

This season Culpepper is going to reveal just how talented our WR's are. IMO, Chambers is a top 5 elite WR, and Booker? He is better than we saw here so far. Both guys get 1,000 yds this season. ( unless of course Hagan outperforms Booker and he gets 1,0000.

Even Harrington is better than what we've had.

Finallly! Someone writes what I've been trying to tell peopel. Great find and read MDFINFAN.

Its hard to step up when our QB's has been forcing the ball to Chris since he joined us. Booker is our most consistent WR as far as catching when thrown to and is just as good if not better than CC at run blocking. Every time I see the ball thrown to Booker I see him come through. I don't see why people want to say he hasn't stepped up when he isn't used enough. Daunte will get him the ball.

You do know that Marty is only 2 years older than chris don'y you? That makes him 29 which isn't that old for a WR. His best days are just as possible as Chris's with Daunte. Marty is also much more of a deep threat than what some give him credit for. If their is one prediction I am confident in this offseason it is that MArty will have a great year. This is moreless a contract year for him and we brought in alot of young talent. Marty is going to have a posssible carreer year IMO. The writing is on the wall.

Marty was among the league leaders in yards per catch like season, so to say that he isn't a deep threat is ridiculous. The guy catches everything thrown his way and he's a solid run blocker. Now that "Inspector Gadget" will be calling our offensive plays look for Marty to display his arm on some trick plays.

I still think Booker can really play and but up very good number 2 numbers. He won't me in the same conversation as Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin or T.J Houshmanzadeh (the best #2s in the league IMO.) But he can still be very productive for us. I look for him to have around 50 catches this season. You have too keep in mind that he is our 3rd option behind Randy McMicheal wich does cause his stats to look lower than they should be.

No way. Cris Carter was way over the hill when we aquired him. Booker is only 29, I think it's still fair to say he is a prowbowl reciever considering the QBs he's had to play with the last few years.

Good article, Booker will light it up this year with CC together being one of (if not the) best pair of WR's in the NFL. Anyone remember Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper? Let me remind you, 3 SB's. Booker and Chambers could do as well if not better.

No, Booker is not that old for a receiver and he has the skill to light things up. It is pretty much up to him in using his abilities to step up and be a playmaker. And, with CC around he does not need to perform at 80+ catches and 1,300 yards 15 TDs etc.

I like him to be the type of guy who will go down the middle and risk getting slammed by a head hunter safety and get that 3rd and 10 converstion to a first down. Also, a guy who can make one or a couple of game changing catches in the course of a game. If he peformed like that and caught 55 to 65 catches and around 800-1,000 yards over the year it would make a dangerous combo with CC.

That may have been the case before but every since Daunte has been in the league he has hit his WR's more. Carter and Moss are a fine example and can anyone name his TE's and honestly say they were his 2nd option?

Not 2nd or even 3rd option. Never been known as a good receiver. Been in the league 8 or 9 years.

Jermaine Wiggins
Maybe considered a 2nd option while with C-Pepp. 700yds in '04. About 600yds in '06.
