Back up Center?

I like Josh Samuda from Umass. He has quick feet and can also play Guard. He would also save us some cap space if he bets out Cook for the job. I was at camp the last three days and he looks quick and can get on Linebackers on the second level. What do you guys think??

Good point. Nate can play all 5 (2nd string) spots. So If we keep 4 (2nd string OL), Murtha, Garner, Steinback, and maybe Jerry??

I believe Cook has position flexibility....just like Nate Garner. I believe those guys are valuable, especially late in the season. It was great we had Garner that one game two years ago where we lost everyone on the line and he ended up playing C (rather well, too).

I'm all for cutting Cook, I don't think that guy deserves his salary at all

I hope if Samuda doesn't make the 53 man roster, he'll make the practice squad.

I had high hopes for Jerry but I believe he has eaten himself out of a roster spot and will be cut. He is too slow for guard in Philbin's offense. At best he may get moved to tackle and given a chance there, but I think it will be too late.
