"It was definitely a learning experience this year,'' said Chad Henne, the Dolphins second-round pick last year, who only got into one regular-season game his rookie season and led a 67-yard TD drive. "We'll see how it all plays out coming up this year. I would assume he'd be the starter at the beginning, but who knows, we'll see how it plays out.''

Certainly, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano left no wiggle room at the end of last season when he definitively said that Pennington – the NFL Comeback Player of the Year and a distant second in the MVP vote – would be his opening-day starter.

Nice read. I'm sorry but I like both those young guys and hope they're both successful.

uh oh, brace yourself for the inevitable Pavlovian cacophonic onslaught of foam-at-the-mouth drool.

Good read. I still hope beck does well. I felt bad he got thrown to the wolves and never really had a chance. I hope he stays as our 3rd QB and works to be a betterQB weather it be here or elsewhere.

He had a chance. Trial by fire is the way it works in the NFL...

Is that a fact? Don't think so.
Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco would beg to differ with you. They were placed in pretty good situations with solid running games and solid defenses.

Beck was set up to fail. I think he would do far better if given another chance. Look at the o line then and look at it now. This guy would definitely do better, problem also was that he seemed to press too much and therefore putting more pressure upon himself. I think now he knows how to approach the game mentally and would keep his confidence up.

I really dont see how he pressed too much. I thought that was one thing he did quite well all things considered. Given how bad our o-line was in was protection and our lack in a running game he really didnt throw that many Ints. 3 ints over 5 games. average that out through the season and that is 9.6 ints over the season with that nightmare of a team.

Oh, no what I meant by pressing was not as far as pressing the passes and trying to make things happen. I mean he seemed like he was pressing in the sense of over thinking, practicing to a fault where his arm would get tired. I guess what I'm saying is he was trying too hard.

As far as game situations he seemed like he tried to avoid making some throws because he wasn't confident therefore dumping the pass off to the back. The other problem would be his low release point that for some reason had changed since BYU. Finally he just seemed flat out nervous and unsure of himself.

I'm just glad to see that Beck's not taking the situation lying down and that he is trying to get better. Many players in his position might not be willing to do that. Getting Pennington is probably the best thing that could have happened for both of them.

I must just be going senile, but what game was Henne's TD drive in during the regular season?

Arizona.

2nd game of the year. There's video of it somewhere..but it escapes me at the moment.

OK yeah, I remember it now. I think I was trying to block that game out of my memory. :lol
