The word now, is that he will be back with the team. They said it on NFL Network "Total Access" and I saw an article that mentioned it too...

I was one of the people that wanted Culpepper...

I'm not buying it. What are the Vikes supposed to say, that Culpepper is as good as gone after this season?

I believe they just extended him this past offseason. Getting rid of him after that means they'll take a huge cap hit, something I doubt they are willing to do considering Culpepper has played at a probowl level before.

Mort (on the SportsBash) said that he expected two teams to inquire about trading for Culpepper, Arizona and Miami. He said he didn't have any info that either team would actually pull the trigger though.

I want a FUTURE QB.... Not a player that has his best years with another franchise. I'm not saying that Culpepper wouldn't be an upgrade, but we need to find our long term solution, and start drafting guys who will be with this team for years to come. Instead of having this "win now" mentality. Thats why having Gus is important. He may not lead us to the playoffs next year. But usually, it's the "journeymen" that make the best coaches. The accolades don't go to their heads. he canmentor a kid on the highs.. and more importantly, the lows of pro ball. To focus on execution, while dealing with the adversity. Bringing in Printers, having Lemon... showns that there is room on the roster for improvement and experimentation. Look foward to a drafting a QB... that maybe advantageous to us to solidify the offense for years to come.

Maybe we pick up another Minny backup QB;)

Please no! Why go after Brad Johnson? He has a streak going, yes, but it's mostly because the defense stepped it up.... they're like +20 in the past 7-8 games....

Now, let's just wait for the Aaron Brooks threads...

With our QB situation.. we're going to be the lead to every available QB... it isn't necessarily a "scoop". Just a reasonable assumption.

thank God Culpepper is overated and i would hate to have him here

:yeahthat: His running ability will be drastically worse and he was never really a great QB. He was a good QB for a guy like Randy Moss and they had good chemistry but I don't think he'll ever have a 3000+ passing yard season again.

Bro... Pep is still mad young though. He would be our FUTURE QB if we grabbed him...
