Bad Play Calling

i do not understand two things:

1. why do we never pass on first down? we run the ball everytime, and they know its coming. i understand that we need to establish the run. but its like we are just wasting first downs.

2. why do we keep going to play action on 2nd and third down? this hasnt fooled anyone yet. our o-line is terrible. the last thing u need to do is waste whatever time culpepper has back there with faking a handoff.

am i missing something?

My problem is how we always use shotgun on 3rd and 3. I don't mind if we pass on 3rd down, but why go shotgun so the defense knows your giong to pass? That takes the threat of the run out of the picture.

I also have a problem with not getting chambers the ball(even if it means on short routes)

there is a difference between balance and being too predictable.

I think we could have won by a bigger margin but running it was as much for the upcoming weeks as it was for winning the game. Anybody see the colts game yesterday? They passed like 15-16 times in a row. Whatever works but I remember the same thing happening in Miami in the 80s-90s. We get to the playoffs and cant run.

I think we are a little predictable on offense but i think with time that will change. Its only mularky's 3rd game in the system. What we need is better play from o line we are not giving duante enough time to through the ball. Mularky cant even call a pass longer then 10 yards cuase daunte dont have no time to throw the ball, However, i do wish Mularky could find a way to get randy micmichael more involved in the offense if we start giving him some touches it will open other options up.

Saban made a comment in his press conf. that admitted passing like that was not a good idea.

To be honest.. Mularkey called a good game yesterday.. He ran the ball 26 times. Something we all agreed he needed to do. Our passing game sucks because our Oline sucks. They dont have to blitz to get presure on Daunte.. that means they can drop extra guys back into coverage and that means its harder to find open guys... guys that daunte cant seem to find. Maybe we can execute plays once the Oline shows up.
