The Dolphins are interested in Trent Green, which leads to the question: Have the Fish lost faith in Daunte Culpepper's ability to bounce back from the knee injury that made him miss most of last season?

The Dolphins are among several teams that have been contacted about making a trade for Kansas City quarterback Trent Green. Green was asked to take a pay cut or seek a trade during a meeting with Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson this week. Green is seeking a trade through his agent, Jim Steiner, and it is believed the Chiefs will take a late-round pick for Green. If the Dolphins agree to trade for Green or sign him as a free agent, it would be an indication that general manager RandyMueller and coach Cam Cameron are uncertain of Daunte Culpepper's future.

The Kansas City Chiefs granted permission Tuesday to Trent Green to seek a trade with another team. At the same time, the Chiefs offered Green the opportunity to remain in Kansas City with a restructured contract. Green's agent, Jim Steiner, already has begun discussions aimed at resolving this matter as soon as possible, with Kansas City or another team. Steiner has spoken to the Dolphins, and Miami's new coach Cam Cameron worked with Green in Washington in 1995 and '96. Green also played at Indiana and Cameron coached there, so there are connections between the men. But the Dolphins would have to satisfy the Chiefs' asking price as well as Green's, and Miami might not be interested in doing both.

I have been saying it for awhile Cpep future is not so certain, ever since this rumor came around. If Green gets cut and we sign him look for Cpep to get cut. We can also trade for Green, but im against this cause I would hate to give away draft picks.Miami has shown alot of interest in drafting a QB and we might have a shot at a Rookie QB by the name of Brady Quinn. There is no way Lemon who is a quality back up and knows Cameron offense gets cut. I know alot of you wont like this but Cpep isnt look to sure right now.

I was thinking the samething. Signing Green makes no sense unless PEP is on the outs.

I don't see how aquiring Green places Culpepper in immediate jeopardy. We need three QB's anyways.

If we were to aquire Green and draft Quinn or Stanton in the first or second round then I'd agree the future looks bleak for Culpepper and his huge contract.

As of right now, I consider Green TC competition and an insurance policy incase Daunte's play goes 05/06 all over again. Nothing more.

I thought our Back Up was Lemon. You guys gave up on him real fast after saying he was better than Joey as a back up. If Cam and Mueller who are known for having a good eye for Qb's would like Cpep there would be no flirting with another QB. Cam was a QB coach before an OC, Shea has a good resume for developing QB, and Mueller has been known for having a good eye for QB's. Why would they be talking with Green agent if Cpep was ready to start and become the Comeback player of the Year, like alot of you guys make it sound.Green has produced in this offense and has been in it almost his entire career, Shea was with Green when he went to consecutive Probowls. Cpep doesnt know the offense, is still recovering from surgery and was playing horrible before surgery. I was one who wanted and thought Cpep was gonna be the Savior, but we need to draft and have a Veteran to teach the rookie and know this offense by Sept. That guy is Green. While i wish Cpep could return to his 04 form chances are he is the next Nameth, once his knee was gone, everything else when with it.

I beleive Cpep will nbe our started this year.....the guy will be 100% healthy and say no to Trent Green

The guy is not 100% healthy now and our QB school starts in the next 2 months.

so what if pep is ready to play why pass on Green? Green is the better QB in the first place. Until you know for sure that pep is going to play well why pass up any oportunity to get a better player?

I don't understand the "say no to green" mentality. It's stupid not to keep bringing in QB's until you find a winner.

Miami isn't willing to give up much for Green, per NFL netork I saw it don't have a link so don't ask. Which tells me they'd like to have him, but it's not because they don't believe in Culpepper. They got rid of Joey, which means we have a spot to fill at the QB position. We might draft one in which case Green would probably be cut, unless the draft choice is just a wasted pick. If we Draft Quinn or Stanton and sign Green you can bet Green will be looking for a job before the season starts.

It burns me inside the way you guys talk about Culpepper- as if he's done something to easily retain his throne on this squad.

NEWS FLASH: CULPEPPER AIN'T SHI... CUZ HE AIN'T DONE SHI... AND HE'S JUST AS EXPENDABLE AS THE ENTIRE ROSTER!

I appologize for the caps but you guys are impossible. You'll call me a Daunte hater but I'm not. I'm just being realistic. Hell, McMichael did more for the Phins than Culpepper has even had the opportunity to do.

I don't believe Culpepper is in jeopardy but stop talking like it would be CRAZY if he was. Shut up about it already. It's annoying.

Trent Green is looking for a team in where he can be a starter. If we get him, say good bye to Daunte. :)

Realistic??? Do you even know or understand the circumstances in Minn before Daunte was injured?? As for last years name another QB that could have done much with all dropped passes, missed blocks we had last year.

Since the beginning of the 2005 season Daunte has played in just 10 games, because of his knee. Is he the only player in football not allowed to have a serious knee injuey and not be allowed to return to play once he's 100% healthy?? How long did it take Edge to get over his knee injury? How about Willis McGahee, how long did it take him?? You're trashing the guy because of what he's done in his past 10 games...what about his previous 70+ games?? Or don't they count?? BTW, in 05 Daunte had three bad games and three pretty damn good games, so in reality that leaves just 2 bad games since the begining of 05, 7 games!!! Are you gonna judge his future on that??

Daunte shouldn't have come back last year and we didn't have a good enough team even if Daunte were 100% that's why everyone is being released. I could care less if you like Daunte or not that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but don't jump on everyone else for having their own opinions and thoughts. And before you spew off next time, do a little research.

we only have two qb's and one is coming off a serious injury. why does it look bad by signing Green? We need another anyway.
