If you haven't guessed from the thread title, this is about John Offerdahl. Where do you guys rank him among our all-time linebackers? He was our best defensive player for years but injuries killed him (and our defense). I think he ranks somewhere below Nick Buoniconti and Zach Thomas. Bryan Cox was good but wasn't here long. Kolan and Matheson were good players (Matheson much better than Kolan). AJ Duhe was also a fine player. Where does the Bagelmeister rank among these?

Zack was 1A
All of the others you mentioned are 1B
I would put them in this order:
Buonoconti and Kolen (Captain Crunch) were very effective and part of the glory years.
Offerdahl was a great player for us but his wreckless style got him injured alot and shortened his career. He was fun to watch when healthy. Bagels are #1
Matheson was a unique player whom Shula designed a defense in his name. The 53 defense. He was a pro bowl type that played great and was well respected.
AJ Duhe had the type of impact in a game that Jason Taylor does, he made alot of big plays. I am sure Richard Todd's (former Jets QB) arthritis is attribited to AJ Duhe.
Bryan Cox was pretty good, his antics made him more entertaining

I think Buoniconti is number 1. Zach is a solid number 2.

Gold star to anyone who gets this reference

That is a late eighties cartoon reference of Luigi and Mario playing football in what is undoubtedly from a NY metropolitan area broadcast of the super mario show hosted in real life by two greasy Italian fat guys in said costumes(you forgot to mention that "Rowdy" Roddy piper would occasionally make a cameo on)...

Do you guys remember when Offerdahl lit up "Touchdown Tommy" Vardell? One of the best hits I've seen. I really disliked Vardell.
And when Bobby Bouchier came back at half time and the Mud Dogs won the Bourbon Bowl?

I remember that hit! He was Mack Trucked!
Bobby Bouchier reminds me of Zack Thomas when he was a Rookie.
