it was just reported that Denver will pay him 53 mil over 5 years with a 18 mil signing bonus. whew, what will portis get from wash I wonder, who really isn't obigated to increase his salary this year since he's still under contract from his rookie year.

If that's the price for the top CB, paying Madison 8Mill doesn't seem as far out of line as I thought.

Surely Ty Law is "putting up the for sale sign in front of his house."

Seriously overpaid. He'll get injured this year. :(

Could be seriously backloaded.

lot of the money is upfront(withing the first 3 years of the contract) from what Clayton said.

Even though Bailey is one of the best defensive players in the league, the Broncos are just giving him way too much money. He just isn't worth that contract.

That is WAAAAAAAAAAY to much. I bet Law asks for 55 mill over 5 years.

If he does he better sell his house cause he is not getting that kind of money from the Patriots :(

Reported where? There's been conflicting #s all over the place on this deal.

6 for $42 mil w/ no bonus info from Mort.
6 for around $50 mil and $14-18 to sign from the local papers for both teams.

The only news source that has gone to $53 mil was the Boston Globe, and Bailey's agent specifically said those numbers were not correct.

It'll be a huge deal, but I seriously doubt that's what it is going to be.
