This is a yahoo.com article about bargain FA's left that I saw today:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...?slug=cr-freeagents032106&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

It mentions the Dolphins for a few of these players.

I'd love it if we could get Arrington (solififies LB corps), Stephen Neal (Super Bowl vet could fill a huge gap at right guard), Tom Ashworth (two quality OL stolen from the Pats, mmm), Ty Law (fills need for a CB playmaker), and Sam Adams (gives Traylor a breather once in a while).

I say we take em all!

(I know we can't!)

None of those players are really bargains. Some of them suck, and others arent likely to be had for a relatively cheap cost.

There are plenty of bargains to be had, but I really doubt any of these players rate as one when all is said and done.

Ya !! And why are they called FREE agents when they cost money??

With a lot of the signings that have been made so far, the upcoming draft
will be one of the most watched I can remember. Wonder how this is going
to play out with teams at the top of the draft picking up players for positions
they were expected to get in the draft? Such as Jay Cutler who's draft status suddenly skyrocketed. He went from being a potential starter to a first round backup real fast.

I'd consider Neal a decent pickup that could really bolster our Guard depth.

i say we get Neal and Ashworth, that way we have 2/5ths of Visa's protection, what were they again? identity theft and fraud monitoring? we need the fraud monitoring so that Ricky doesnt have any more of these 'failed' tests, and identity theft so that no one can parity our offensive and defensive schemes!

and taking 40% of new England's line from them as got to be worth something:D

That's right!! And don't you think it's ironic that Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig's Disease??

Hey Chrissie, you gonna tell that stupid joke every time?

:sidelol: That was so funny-I'm having my doubts about this whole coma/dream sequence, though.

Conservatively we need a backup QB....Maddox appears to be our guy there.

I would rather grab Kendyl Jacox over Stephen Neal. Jacox could be a good RG for us, but I would like to see him at C under Houck...see what he can do. I'm unclear whether or not Houck actually coached Jacox in 2002 just before he left to get some money in New Orleans, but Jacox looked like a pro bowler at Center back there. I think Jacox is a pretty solid substitute for LeCharles Bentley.

I also kind of like the idea of reuniting Houck with Larry Allen and moving Hadnot to Center. Even at his age Larry could be a heck of a RG.

Ty Law seems out of it for us with the signing on Will Allen. Ashworth has never really been a serious target since we signed Shelton, IMO.

I would LOOOOOOOOOVE to get Arrington but if he and the Postons view Peterson's contract as Arrington's benchmark, forget it.
