Barry Jackson Article: Great Notes and Insight...Discuss Away

All this blaming philbin stuff I keep reading on here is bs also...this team has shown up every game...we were outcoached yes by the saints but more so our Dc gameplan got owned...the turnovers and inability to stop them coupled with crap protection did us in...

That's not the hc unless he has heavy say in personnel...losing big to the saints in New Orleans happens...take that one away and this team has shown up and played and been in every game the entire time...

You guys are barking up the wrong tree...right now at least

The team not finishing at the end of games is on the coaching staff. Please.

Maybe the oc...you've been done in by protection break downs in critical moments but I fail to see how that's on the hc...the gm the oc the oline coach the 3 that should be held most accountable at this point...

I don't care what it is...they'd laugh their asses off at us...

Teams laugh their asses off at incompetence. There's no reason to say a woman cannot do the job of a GM just because she's a woman. That's being a dinosaur, dude. Join the 21st century.

If other teams are full of dinosaurs and want to laugh, then who gives a ****? I want to win. I want competent people running the team. Not the case right now.

Sexism is remarkably unappealing. Aponte doesn't have any background in scouting, that would be my objection.

He's right, though. It is a boy's club. I don't think the NFL is ready for it. If she can do the job, I got no objection at all, but as you said, no background in scouting. It would be a disastrous move, IMO.

If you're going to blaze trails, do it with someone who is qualified and can do a great job, otherwise it just makes things a lot worse.

The league is full of dinosaurs in the front offices boss...thus the reaction we would get...not to mention the blatant incompetence

Why do you automatically think "someone from Green Bay" thinks Joe is fit to be his coach. Lazy logic people have around here. Maybe they do have a high opinion of him, but maybe they don't want to "hitch their star to Joe's wagon".

Maybe Joe and Sherm need to put RT in a better position to succeed.

Amazing how we got people around here that because people don't agree with everything they say they attack them.

Not sure how you got that I was blaming the fans, what I was getting at is Ross has tried just about everything to get the fans back, everything except to get rid of one of the few guys directly responsible for getting fans in the seats: the General Manager.

Hoping Ross is thinking that way anyway.

roy, no owner ever will get miami fans back in total. its the market and the consistent disgruntled nature of the beast in s. florida. A new regime will only get you and others going again once things change once again and we end up right back at square one.

Joe philbin is actually doing just as good or better than alot of coaches out there. It is too soon to be playing this stupid game of "I hate this guy and will never give up hating until he is gone" game.

There is alot more than meets the eye and the s. florida media focus on the negative regardless of how well we do. So you guys eat that shiit up and sell it every chance you get. That is where you and others stand.

You opinion means nothing to me because you dont teach me anything as to the where why and how. All you do is bring up your laundry list from the past. And everyone knows stats do not tell the whole story.

I choose to wait til the end of this season and If we do make the playoffs I know for damn sure that you and others will still poo poo everything without considering the long term of this team. Jus the short term, that all you care about.

Aponte is the wrong person to have at the center of this kind of discussion, but "the nfl isn't ready" is... who cares? Who cares what other teams are ready for? How is what dinosaurs on other teams think of my team going to affect my team?

It's hard enough finding people qualified to do this job without worry about crap like this.

Taylor needs more snaps. Jimmy Wilson is a liability. I dont care if he gave up 4-4. That was against NO and Drew Brees. I can recall two of them off the top of my head...one was the TD to Graham where he had perfect position just got out jumped by the best TE in the league. The other he was playing a soft coverage against Colston on like 3-20...let him catch it in front of him for like 15 yards and made the tackle.

Dont just look at the #s and say he sucks. I agree with Hoops that he hasnt gained the staffs trust yet..but hes better than Jimmy Wilson Ill guarantee that. The only thing Wilson has going for him is experience and knowing the defense...which may very well be the only reason he is still playing

I agree completely. And we just went through the toughest first half schedule in the league arguably. The media and alot of fans just like to focus on the negative.

And this talk of Aponte being a GM is just flat out silly. When people start things up in their brains just to make some kind of flippant point that just leads people into more negativity is just grade school crap.

Everytime people put down Carroll and Wilson they go out and make a big play that makes you look stupid. Wilson is the guy who covered Gronk and played that play excellent but got called for bogus PI.

Wilson and Carroll have experience and that is exactly what the rookies dont have, that is why they are not playing. We are deep in depth there. So they are just waiting for guys to get hurt and save them for the second half of the season. case and point is reshard matthews last year. Its the coaching staff's MO. But you cannot say that we dont have any corners in order to further that opion because Patterson and Grimes are playing lights out!

Wait, so one of your biggest takeaways from that article is the ticket sales? It seems like some spend more time watching the stands than watching the game (from their TVs, ironically). Also conveniently ignore the number of season tickets they sold 7 years ago, when people started realizing the mediocrity/garbage football wasn't just a slight downturn but an epidemic.

Back on topic, which was 98% not "blame the fans related."

I guarantee you that ticket sales are a huge issue for Steve Ross. I promise you he is furious that the stadium is a ghost town for a primetime game.

And I promise you he saw how excited the fans were after that 3-0 start, how rocking the stadium was for the home opener. It's not about blaming the fans, it's about opening Ross's eyes.
