Many here will poo-poo this as a bitter (I am guessing Brian Billick) ex-coach not getting the gig. However, if there is any credence to this it means of possible real issues in the future for the Fins. Over time, we will find out if there is any smoke to this fire. I hope it is not true...

One prominent former NFL head coach who was interested in the Dolphins’ job — but wasn’t called by the team — expressed frustration that aside from Fisher, the Dolphins considered only assistant coaches with no head coaching experience.
“They want to groom and discover a guy,” said the coach, who requested anonymity. “They want some guy they can control.”

I was just about to post this lol I have no doubt in my mind that this quote came from Brian Billick!

Nobody wants Billick.........or hadn't he noticed?

I hope it is sour grapes. RIGHT OR WRONG Joe Philbin needs to be able to coach his team how he sees fit and be able to work collaboratively with Jeff Ireland. Ross and Peterson need to get out of their way...RIGHT OR WRONG.

I guess it's tough for guy's like Billick, Jim Fassel and others .. who have been successful as NFL HC's and can't find another team to take a chance on them ... Billick made his bed, by having the over confident, smartest guy in the room mentality, that turns NFL types off .. I like Billick and was hoping he'd get considered ... but how in the world does he know that Ross and Ireland want to control the HC ... He can't possibly read minds, can he? Ross obviously felt Philbin had the it factor ... Billick should have never made his thoughts public, it doesn't make him look smart!!!

Somebody sound's butthurt, probaly Billick.Go cry over the Oakland or Tampa job.

Well, Ross did make a stipulation in the hire to keep Bowles. Philbin said yes and McCoy said no. Who got the job? The yes man. But saying this I am happy with this hire.

Hayden, I don't see that quote in the article you posted. Also that is a Pete Dougherty article, not Barry Jackson.

I messed up the cut and paste...I just fixed it...tells me I should get some sleep. Sorry man.
