Barry Jackson: Dolphins narrow their search to three finalist

Don't get Zimmer being too blunt? Did he tell Ireland he sucks as a GM? Did Zimmer tell Ross about all the wrong moves Ross has made since buying the team? Don't get it. Oh well, it's a crap shoot anyway. Just hope we get lucky and pick a winner.

Oh the same o-line coach that Aaron Rodgers praised up and down for helping him develop into the QB he is today?

You mean a player said something good about his coach during a tragic time in his life? Yeah there's no way he was just being nice...

Get the **** out of here. Green Bay fans are in total disarray because they believe Philbin is as good as gone. I wanted Zimmer as much as the next guy but there's a reason he hasn't been a HC in what, 17 years? If his buddy Jeff Ireland didn't want him, who we all know loves the Cowboy castoffs, then he's not the right guy. Period.

This team needs to be injected with a high powered offense. Not a mediocre defense that couldn't beat the TJ Yates lead Texans

There's a difference between being a straight-shooter and being too blunt. A straight-shooter would say "your performance isn't where it needs to be, you need to improve". Someone who is too blunt would say "You f*cking suck, get better or I'm cutting your *ss". Now, on average, which one is going to get the better response from his team? If anyone says the blunt guy, you haven't taken any psychology courses, ever. Whine and cry all you want, countless studies show that positive reinforcement is the best way to get the most out of someone, and it's not even close.

I'm not saying that's how Zimmer is. I don't know the guy and I doubt I've heard say more than a few sentences. But, if he comes off as someone like that, someone who risks losing the locker room because no one likes him, you can't possibly blame Ross for not going that way. It has nothing to do with insulting the interviewers, all though that can't help matters if it happened. You always hire the guy who is going to get the most out of the players, and it sounds like Ross has at least a rudimentary understanding of psychology and business, both of which are more involved in an NFL team than most realize...

If that's the best you can come up with you really have no idea who Philbin is.

He is blunt, but he's always been that way. It's what makes his players walk on proverbial fires for him. His father was the same way, and I no doubt believe that what happened in that interview probably would have happened 40 years ago with Bill Zimmer. Favorite line for all his high school wrestlers, "Weakness is unacceptable." I guarantee you his son picked up on that over the years. Now you put his kids in the room with him, especially his girls, and he's a completely different person.

Wow man.. so the best candidate is eliminated because he's too honest? Okay then. We ****ing suck.

Zimmer was too honest? Seriously, **** this team.

Just imagine:

Salguero: Coach what are your thoughts of first round pick David DeCastro?
Zimmer: That Jeff Ireland is a ****ing tard, we need playmakers not slow cornfed lineman.

The military is very successful with their blunt approach. Ireland didn't want to called out for being a weasel when he tried to bs Zimmer.
