Barry Jackson Evening Notes...good insight

I found it interesting that the agent for the other FA player stated Miami wanted to have QB situation resolved by the end of the weekend and turn to other needs.

I think Miami will get aggressive in the 2nd tier of FA. It is always a buyer's market. More players can be had for much better value than the awful contracts given to the like of Pierre Garcion and Mario Williams.

Land Flynn and this team has direction...

I agree...I think if we add Flynn and Anderson and this offseason is one of the best we have had in a long time. If we find the funds to add Winston too...that would be incredible.
 
Peyton and the BM trade messed our FA up but I agree I'm glad it worked out like it did without any high priced contracts IF we can get Flynn and a receiver with OL help.
 
I believe that Flynn will be in the bag this weekend.I still would like to see us draft a QB this year but it'll be nice knowing that we didn't miss out on everyone.....Flynn knows the offence well and that will help us this coming season....once he's in I think we might get 1 or 2 more guys and then start getting ready for april......the draft should be fun with 9 picks so far but that number could go up by 1 or 2

I'd rather add a veteran WR, like Manningham or Lloyd, to couple with Flynn and Winston. Can we afford all of that? I don't know. But that would make me pretty happy if we could and we did.

Doesnt matter how cheap the FA's get, if the Dolphins keep wasting money on scrub back-ups like 2 million on a back-up o linemen, re-signing scrubs like Mastrud and Spiller and refusing to cut Bell despite having option in Clemons and Jones who are better suited to play SS to begin with and would actually be an upgrade over Bell in a pass happy league then it wont matter how cheap these guys are because last I checked the Dolphins dont have much salary space left.
 
if pierre garcons contract was awful whats laurent robinsons??? anyways i stand by this flynn thing gets done in miami very soon...but it won't be for $5 mil per

Yeah, the longer Winston is on the market the more optimistic I am that we can actually sign him. I figured KC would have already thrown what he's asking his way, but apparently they're not as stupid as I thought. If we can sign those 2 I will feel pretty good about things.

What another team low-balling Winston?
 
To all those complaining, let the process play out. We are all of handful of days into FA. I am hardly a homer...I call them like I see it and right now, there is SO MUCH time left going forward.

Reporters love to dogpile. It's easy, it's safe, and it gets views. I honestly can't wait to see them slag us if we sign Flynn. I guarantee you the narrative will still be about Peyton Manning and Miami settling for Plan B, etc. etc.
 
if winstons demand is $8 mil per i'd low ball him also...he needs to come back down to earth with that garbage
