Barry Jackson: Miami Dolphins disgust analysts

It's so gross it doesn't even look like football. Need a real coach that can scheme to get a first down. And motivate grown, rich men. Adam Gase isn't that guy. And we need to get rid of Mike Tannenclown - he doesn't know football from basketball.

"You can’t have stuff in the NFL where a player falls in the shower and can’t play. You can’t function that way.”

what the hell does this even mean? players only get randomly injured and miss games on poorly run teams?

and gase has been here a year? (regardless of when he was actually hired (January 9th)), we are 5 games into his first season.

Ross is a Real Estate Mogul. He is all about the money......honey. Football plays second fiddle.

Kraft is a cheese Mogul. He has hired the right people to do the job and Ross hired the wrong people. Can't blame Ross. He tried hard to have a competitive team and provided the best training facilities and renovated the stadium. He also opened his wallet to get a good coach etc..
What else can you ask from an owner? You think Wayne Huizenga was that involved with the Dolphins with Auto Nation and Blockbuster videos? But at least we were very competitive every week.

True, it's just another a hole piling on. It's easy to kick when we're down, and we are down, no denying that. I'm still waiting for something to click and give me the feeling that we should have hope in Gase. I'd sure like to see some passion and pride on the field against Pittsburgh. We'll be outgunned for certain but I want to see some desire and hard hitting. Maybe blowing some guys off the team is a wake up call. Maxwell was a devastating mistake by Tannenbaum. Look at what that guy gives us on game days. If he plays without effort again he should be cut and don't pay him another dime. There has to be some protection against a player not performing. I'm sick of these guys. Ross is apathetic. He should be freaking out. He should be in the locker room after games demanding accountability. Shula wouldn't have gone for this for 1 second. I always thought a group should have been put together to buy the Dolphins with Shula the CEO. Things would have been different.

Maybe Ross is really an evil genius? We know he was a Jets fan, maybe some Dolphin fan pissed him off in the 70's and he uttered under his breath I'll show you. Now he's trolling Dolphin fans running us into the ground while still making money hand over fist in the process.

I think its more likely he's lying and is now faking the injury than actually slipping in the shower. I mean how could it be bad enough that he couldn't even make it to the stadium on game day to talk to the coach in person but is practicing no problem a few days later?

The ridicule and shame being thrown at Miami and its fan base, is well deserved.

 What? What does the fanbase have to do with this other than being subjected to an absolute **** product for well over a decade?

I have to agree with the article. This team has gotten so low that if they look up they'll see the bottom and the hardest thing is we all know on this board that tanne-dumb will not fix the team. He's actually making it worst.

Ozzy rules!!

Not only does the Dolphins’ performance make their own fans’ blood boil, but it apparently has the same effect on network analysts.
Both NBC’s Rodney Harrison and ESPN commentator and former Eagles/Redskins pro personnel director Louis Riddick are appalled by what they’ve seen.

“They have to rip this down, pull this down to the ground. The question is do you have people in place to do that? Adam Gase has only been there for a year, but everyone needs to be evaluated and that product on the field is nowhere close to being good enough. You can’t have stuff in the NFL where a player falls in the shower and can’t play. You can’t function that way.”

I asked Riddick why he sounds so passionate discussing this.

“When it comes to some of these teams and some of the way they flop around out there and put out inept performances, it’s frustrating and annoying to watch, seeing the league recycle the same names who haven’t proven they can build [expletive],” he said.
“There are people who deserve opportunities to build teams and organizations that owners would never consider, because they wouldn’t even know what to consider.

“With the Dolphins, there is a lot of blame to go around. It’s frustrating because there are no excuses in the NFL. The league is built for everyone to have a shot. To have such a long sustained mediocrity, you have deep rooted issues.

“If I am Stephen Ross trying to figure out why we look like crap, I am asking the question, ‘How can we look like this? What the hell is going on?’ And then make the decision about whether we have right people. Right now, they’re not even competitive. Gase said they’re inept on offense – to get the ball run on you like that, with the money they have invested on the defensive line, it’s gross. Someone has to be help accountable.”

On the contrary, I think we've shown we specialize in building ****.

Ross is like the mayor in Jaws. How many victims is Ross going to serve up before he begrudgingly admits that he's the "mayor of shark city" and is shamed into making a responsible decision?

He's going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and bites him in the ass

I'll be disgusted if we don't have any energy on Sunday. This is a classic NFL type situation in which the road team is very good, but not great, and coming off a very satisfying victory. The home team is coming off a string of embarrassing performances including a lopsided home defeat as favorite.

The Steelers may simply outclass us on ability alone. That's mostly irrelevant. This is the first time since the opener we are essentially ridiculed by the pointspread. The Dolphins by all historical and psychological measure should be the more intense and desperate team to open the game. If it doesn't play out that way, then the internal troubles may be more severe than I understand, and way outside normalcy for a team with a rookie head coach at this stage.

Miami, as usual, can't get out of its own way. The Steelers- draft well, next man up. Leveon Bell out for the first 4 games, no problem here's DeAngelo Williams. Martavis Bryant out, no problem here comes Sammie Coates. Sammie Coates out, no problem here's Eli Rogers. And Eli Rogers, by the way, will probably light us up today.

At least we got rid of the OL dead weight with Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner, Turner's lack of awareness was appalling.

The blame goes to all. Ross spends the money but he spends it not knowing how to spend it. Stop relying on his loser relationships, Peterson, T-Bum and get someone who has a track record of success. Hell, I'll take Charlie Casserly at this point.
