Barry Jackson: Miami Dolphins disgust analysts

I'll be disgusted if we don't have any energy on Sunday. This is a classic NFL type situation in which the road team is very good, but not great, and coming off a very satisfying victory. The home team is coming off a string of embarrassing performances including a lopsided home defeat as favorite.

The Steelers may simply outclass us on ability alone. That's mostly irrelevant. This is the first time since the opener we are essentially ridiculed by the pointspread. The Dolphins by all historical and psychological measure should be the more intense and desperate team to open the game. If it doesn't play out that way, then the internal troubles may be more severe than I understand, and way outside normalcy for a team with a rookie head coach at this stage.

Team hasn't had energy all year don't expect that to change all of a sudden, especially with all the Steelers fans taking over early due to another porous start. Some coaches can inject that into a team some can't. We never had it with Philbin, Campbell brought it for a few games.

This is not just a Miami Dolphin issue to say the least. Sure we notice them more because its who we follow but if you were a fan of about 25 other NFL teams you would notice the same poor product just a degree or 5 better than the debacle that is the 2016 Dolphins. I disagree with the article that the NFL is built for all franchises to be successful. History tells me otherwise and history has never lied to me in my lifetime. The way the league is structured allows a few franchises to get the upper hand (NE,Pitt,Den come to mind) and stay dominate until they are not decades later.

The NFL is broke.

What is Mario Williams doing down there? Collecting checks just like Suh and the rest of the overpaid Vets who come to Miami to retire while still sporting a uniform.

"I think if I ran an NFL team, I would pay $60 million just to ensure that Suh is never on my roster"
Best quote ever...

They aren't playing for "the guy next to them" - not winning 1:1's and in some cases barely looking like they are trying. Don't expect energy. Pitt should score about 40 and we'll have 7 first downs.

It's so gross it doesn't even look like football. Need a real coach that can scheme to get a first down. And motivate grown, rich men. Adam Gase isn't that guy. And we need to get rid of Mike Tannenclown - he doesn't know football from basketball.

I don't want players that can't motivate themselves.

Miami, as usual, can't get out of its own way. The Steelers- draft well, next man up. Leveon Bell out for the first 4 games, no problem here's DeAngelo Williams. Martavis Bryant out, no problem here comes Sammie Coates. Sammie Coates out, no problem here's Eli Rogers. And Eli Rogers, by the way, will probably light us up today.

At least we got rid of the OL dead weight with Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner, Turner's lack of awareness was appalling.

Williams wasn't a draft pick of theirs.

Agreed. Show passion. And I want to see some form of improvement. No sloppy play. Actual gameplan. Targeting mismatches. That kind of stuff.

Well, at least its an article sharing our anger and what we've been saying instead of just openly mocking the team and fans still bothering to pay attention down here. Its embarrassing for this once proud team to play like this every week now.

well for that to happen we need a player to develop as the leader figure of the teAm - like Marino or Ray Lewis or someone like that.

This was meant in response to the motivate question.

Ross spends the money that's not the issue its been some of the hires. There are many former Dolphins players playing well on other teams so it's not just the personell. It's been coaching mainly with a mis match of GMS.

Chris Hogan is starting for the Pats and playing well, another one that we let slip through our fingers.
