DOLPHINS NOTE

### Among the feedback we've heard from Dolphins players: There's definitely concern about the situation at guard, where nobody has seized a position (though rookie Jamil Douglas has had some good moments); optimism about the secondary even beyond Brent Grimes (Jamar Taylor, Brice McCain were solid in May/June practices and Bobby McCain and Tony Lippett flashed); and praise for how linebackerChris McCain has handled his increased responsibilities.

Also, lots of positive feedback from players on the Dolphins' receivers beyond the top four -- some believeRishard Matthews would thrive if he had a larger role and players are impressed with some receivers who likely aren't going to make this team, such as Michael Preston.

That's about all we get this time of the year...there is concern about guard, imagine that.

I am concerned as well. I hope someone is at least decent, but no team has a great player at every position. At least we, (most of us, I think) aren't wondering who will play QB.

A glaring need that has yet to be addressed. If Tannehill is killed through the guard spot, how then will we evaluate TannenHick?

when dallas Thomas is getting first team reps your damn right there is some concern. smh what the hell is going on with this staff thinking dallas playing is a good idea? what a joke. release him and fox, draft battle with a 5th and sign Mathis.

It was so obvious that guard was a need and little was done to solve.

Biggest criticism of the FO from my point of view.

To be fair, we haven't spent a 1st round pick on either of those spots, thus it can't be solved at this moment.

Phailbin at work praising Thomas. Phailbin is the hottest hot seat coach in the league right now so it's amazing how he isnt working toward fixing holes. When your starting Quarterback goes over your head and straight to the front office to beg for a Guard, your days are numbered.

As much as i agree, still an unfair criticism when serviceable free-agent guard options were getting grossly overpaid and any lineman not named Scherff in the draft was an unknown commodity. Wouldn't have minded picking up Erving or Tomlinson in the draft, but they still need work and round 1 was a bit of a reach, depending on how you grade out BPA. Significant drop-off from that point on e.g. Cann, Marpet, Jackson, etc.

I'd like to bicker about the lack of effort to secure the position, but I'm not going to complain about someone not eating a grape from a stem of rotten grapes.

Let's just say it's a concern that hasn't been addressed YET. Training camp is still a month away.

There has been no hitting as of yet, how could anyone prove anything at offensive line in t-shirt and helmets? I think we need to wait at least until the pads are on. Also one of Jackson's sources is Rosenhaus for these type of blogs, think about that.

Somebody must be living in LA LA Land

Fox is a solid backup by the way

:sidelol:

No **** they are concerned. You think Branden Albert wants to get his knee wrecked because of the pattycake matador again?
