Barry Jackson notes from Day 1

Hated reading about all the sacks and that we are exposing Tannehill with read option stuff. But loved every thing else about the Lazor offense. Tannehill hit Wallace once, which is something upon which to build.

Lazor using the TE's and backs in the pass game just like he did so well at UVa. He generates plays for a secondary to contend with big guys (TE's) and dangerous open field runners (RB's) instead of solely WR's.

Opposing LB's and DB's are going to hate lining up against Lazor's offense. It will expose mismatches, highlight defensive situational substitutions and lock them into those matchups using an uptempo attack.

No more running against stacked boxes or throwing into coverage all the time.

Don't take this personally, because it is about the words not who said it, and lots are talking like this.
Tannehill hit Wallace once, and we are interested by this? Wow, two pros connected on a pass!
We threw a pass to a TE, another wow.
Hate lining up against us, and no stacked boxes, oh please.
Until the team proves otherwise, defenses will be licking their chops.
Until the team proves otherwise, we have a suspect Oline with rookies, injury, out of position players and zero chemistry.
2013's 3rd overall pick is still not able to take the field.
We have a new scheme that will not be "ready" week one, it will be a work in progress. You will hear the players themselves say this over and over.

I won't continue no one wants to hear it.
I'm fine with being positive, but it has to be based in sense.

No one is fearful of us right now, and Wallace and Tannehill should be able to play catch by now with no pads on.
How easily Miami fans get impressed these days.

Sorry, can't take much more blah blah reporting. Preseason can't get here fast enough.

I love the fact the Wallace said he has to be better. Now let's hope he embraces it and gets better.

I didn't read it that way. To me I hear him say (mean) "I have to be better and comeback and get those passes that were not good enough". That's nice and all there Wallace, but you just cut up your QB first day of camp.

Did they give Tyler Larsen a shot?

i just do NOT understand why in the hell they are wasting time on some who has NVER played maybe the mosy important position on the o-line, especially a guy who's game was suspect coming in!

and here we have LARSEN, a kid who has been a center since he was 3 years old and he isnt getting a shot? they should see if shelly can even play guard before handing him the keys to the ferarri. i know there are things we dont see behind the scenes in camp, but cana TRUE, NATURAL CENTER not be worthy of getting reps early and then going with the other options if he fails? this is a MAJOR head scratcher to me.

and i cant believe TURNER isnt even a mention ANYWHERE! he has played all the positions on the line very well. even though he was the last to sign, he has missed NO mini or regular camp and early reports were he was picking up the play book pretty quick.

isnt there a kid out there on a practice squad we can poach? i dont know if teams can do that right now but if so, i wonder if they have anyone on radar?

shelly getting the first reps is really strange. things that make you go hmmmmmmm......... .

the silver lining here is that lazor is going to mix it up and slow down the pass rush where he can. as witnessed by today's playcalling.

That should make people very happy vs. Sherman.

I don't see why Colledge being on the team recently and Dallas Thomas only playing 3 offensive snaps last year are bad things. Colledge is an NFL veteran who should at least be adequate and Thomas? He's on the team to play on the OL so his experience last year isn't close to being a guarantee he'd never be a good player.

More than 6 damn sacks yet again...:bobdole:

Come on people...first day. Honestly it has even been proven that pre-season games don't even tell you the story about how a season will pan out.

Day one and we have people already burying our team for not being prefect.

Impassive and alone
Unmoved by this victory

JOEHARLEY666: very nice on the JUDAS PRIEST sig!! defenders of the faith is a KICK ARSE album/cd, as most of their stuff is. i will go to my grave saying that j-p's live album UNLEASHED IN THE EAST is the greatest heavy metal album PERIOD!! all others have been trying to duplicate it since it came out in 1977. SPEED METAL was born with EXITER. 7 years before metallica!! there isnt a record out there that rocks so hard and so furious as unleashed in the east from start to finish. an album WAY, WAY ahead of it's time.. if ANY OF YOU YOUNG [or older] metal or rock fans have never heard it, go get it and be prepared for an all out assault of tremendous vocals and guitar and drums from the great les binks. this was priest before the mid 80's stuff when they were a COMPLETELY different band. hard, fast and relentless!!! there may be metal abums that have out sold it, but NO metal album has even touched it's greatness.

and here in AZ, [where rob halford lives] it rumored that he is a DOLPHINS fan!! the album POINT OF ENTRY cover shot was done about 7 miles from my last home. i got a tip from a guy who lives in tuscon that was a go-fer on the shoot who gave me the abouts on where the shot was taken, just off the maricopa highway. i found it using the album cover and two pretty distinct points on the desert mountain. very cool!! for many years i thought this was taken on ibeza island but a few years back read it was arizona [made sense as halford had just moved to az and the album had desert reference all over it] and then found out later it was just down the road from us.

ok, back to football. i had to say SOMETHING though, especially with halford being a MIAMI DOLPHINS fan!!

If this is not fix nothing matters. If we do not block we are going to hear the same complaints from some of you guys saying its the play calling. We wanted to play a fast pace passing offense last year, but couldnt block so it changed our whole offensive plan to doo doo.

---------- Post added at 01:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:40 PM ----------

Once you start calling plays because you cant pass block, you lost the game.

I didn't bury anything...I said its unacceptable and when you run as many designed roll outs and bootlegs as we did yesterday and you still end up with 7 sacks pads or no pads that's exactly what it is...
