* Wharton is long in the tooth and I am not sure how he fits with a ZBS, but he had a great year last year. I am surprised he is still out there. He is an upgrade for a slew of teams. It is obvious it is about age. Good football player.

* Those agents are right that Miami could have waited on Finnegan for not only days, but weeks. Paid way too much for him. I do not hate the player, but I hate the guaranteed cash for 2014

* If I am Dan Marino, I would not join the Dolphins unless had some clout with the franchise.

Anyways, I figured to pass along the notes I saw.

"Simply being Dan Marino is still profitable; he commands more than $100 per autograph, according to his firm."

One of my all time heroes in life, but i wouldn't pay ANYONE 100 bucks for an autograph!

If I had as much money as Marino, I'd retire at 52 and travel the world. Maybe after I'd be done with that I'd figure out what to do with the rest of my life...

The article says the Fins want to look at "younger options" at guard. Who is that? LOL. It is not Wade Smith. Jeremy Zuttah getting cut? Strange comment.

I would like to see them get some visits going and do more in the interior.

The difference is that Marino was/is a star, and you are not. I mean no offense, but when someone like Dan gets all the attention, the celebrity status, they cannot just go away and enjoy life w/o it. Even Jimmy Johnson has to make appearances to stay in the light. I guess there's only so much fishing he can do.
But I'm with you, my non celebrity butt would be world hopping as well.

i am sure dan would like to do just that. unfortunately........... HE HAS NO MONEY!!!

he got into that bad, REAL BAD financial deal that he bet the farm on and it tanked almost immediately. i believe he was in some form of bankruptcy.

then of course the love child and affair came about and there were monies involved there......... .

life isnt so golden for danny any longer. this thing of being sacked from cbs could really be a downfall for him, even worse than the big investment blunder. without big money you dont open big money doors and danny star has LOOOOONG fallen being kept alive by old finz geezers. thats reality. and a hundred bux a pop for an autograph might net him 1500.00 at a good convention.

and that aint gassin' up the bentley anymore.

sounds like they are looking to the draft on the oline front and making these long in the tooth vets wait...wish they had done that on the finnegan front...waited him out longer at least

I think I paid around $150 to meet Dan and get an autograph a few years back at a sports convention. I still look back at that day and smile. The best $150 I ever spent!

calling it now...first 3 picks some combination of 2 offensive linemen likely a guard and tackle or someone with versatility to play both and a lb likely a mike option if possible...4th round rb (good spot to get a good value)...my bets with how the roster sits right now...after the draft some veteran one year oline signings cheap to come to camp and compete with the rookies...a wade smith etc

then it's on to offseason otas and training camp

also wouldnt be shocked if miami took xavier sua filo at #19...zach martin or him...filo can play some tackle too

I agree Hoops. Something like Zack Martin Kyle Van Noy or Skov then Billy Turner. Or Mosley then Moses then Turner. Something along those lines.

I think you 100 percent accurate on your prediction.

van noy looks more like a strong side olb in a 43 to me...misis slot...so i don't see that being the fit...or better yet the need...be hard to find snaps for him right now at least...skov i can see that...i would just be worried about a lot of these guys being athletic and fast enough etc to play every down...may be more 2 down players who struggle in space...

every down lbs who can not get exploited on 3rd down hard to find...worst case i think miami though adds a 2 down mike...they need something more instinctual on the inside...problem is though teams will get us in the nickle early downs and try and exploit the mike in coverage if you got a stiff there...in addition to the soft front d line in the run game at the poa...

if you do view a guy as a 2 down lb i don't see how you can justify taking it with a top 2 round pick...3rd round yes that makes more sense to me...unless you are a team that doesnt need many pieces and can just fill that one need...of which miami is not
