Barry Jackson: Several analysts weigh in on Dolphins picks

### NFL Network's Matt Millen: “He’s not a speed guy. But this guy will change the attitude of your team. He’ll challenge anybody who doesn’t work. I saw him do that at LSU. He’s a guy who demands you practice the way you play and that you play hard. This is a tough, tough sucker. I love this guy. And it’s rare to get that out of a receiver. Anquan Boldin has that same attitude. I remember when him coming out and he was a little banged up. But you knew he had it in him. Same thing with Andre Johnson. I think this guy is going to play for 10 years and just depend on.”

I don't know what most of the people on here will do now. This team is actually drafting real, tough, football players with proven resume's. We WILL be better.

wow.. very encouraging on both these guys - we're gonna have some long term assets for stability for a change (hopefully). Landry is an out and out stud who unlike Wallace, will fight for the ball. Only high school 5 star rated receiver coming out other than Sammy Watkins? Not too shabby. If Gibson can mend, we've now got blockers to keep #17 upright, spring whatever RBs we end up with to keep the defenses honest , and between Gibby, Landry, and Hartline, Tannehill's got himself 3 dependable go -to receivers and also 2 potential game breakers in Wallace and Clay. Get a TE to block, or work with Simms, and our offense should be "In Like Flynn" I'm pretty stoked.

Good going Hickey, and props to you for having the gumption to stand your ground to snatch the RG for whom you obviously had a sufficiently strong preference in the filling the most critical need, to the point that you refused to risk losing him.

So far based on the picks. All the OL's including better come to camp ready to work cause nobody's job is safe. The WR's better work as well. This Landry kid could cost anybody their roster spot.

Very very encouraging article! It's nice to see the people who are neutral being just a impressed with the picks.

Landry is a frigging vacuum cleaner like Welker with more size. Where Wallace refuses to fight for balls, Landry will fight for everything and usually wins. Gibson probably just lost his job as the slot receiver and Hartline will have serious competition for the role of Tannehill's go to blankie.

Turner was not paid attention to because he was a small school LT. However, he dominated when they played Kansas State and played damn well when they moved him out of position to RG and RT in the Senior Bowl. Turner is a mauler with the speed to get to the second level. I suspect he will end up starting at LG because Smith does not have Turner's physical gifts.

Get online and WATCH THE VIDEO on these guys.

I am liking Hickey more and more.

I just read where Landry had one drop in 123 targets, the more I read about these draft picks the better I like them.

Actually, I'm thinking Landry reminds me of Chris Carter.

Solid draft so far. I like that we got a kid who knows that football is his.
We need more toughness around Miami. 2 new cornfeds to keep RT clean.
When this team starts clicking anyone who jumped ship is gonna be regretting it.

And let's not forget - Miami switched Gibson to the inside after being an outside WR for the Rams. When I put Gibson, Matthews and now Landry up against each other - there's a lot of similarities and considering the money put into both Wallace and Hartline, you have to wonder if they have made some early decisions on next year.

Landry is a football player, pure and simple - something this team is in big need of. And when you consider the other signings/selections of Turner, James, Shelly Smith, Cortland Finnegan and Delmas - they all scream 'football player' with attitude - there's a plan forming and 'Winter is Coming'... :)

No doubt. My hope is this new culture spreads throughout the locker room. There was a time when teams hated to play the dolphins because we were scrappy and they knew it would be a battle for 60 minutes. I would love to be THAT kind of team again. I can see it now, " Hey coach, the new schedule has came out. We play the Dolphins." coach, " We do?" " Oh, SH*T, I hate playing that friggin team. Last time, our guys were whipped and could barely make it back to the locker room" :-) OK, ok. I'll put the crack pipe down, but you get the general idea. :chuckle:

Clearly Philbin and company have a draft philosophy of drafting good character, team players who put the team first...let's hope that they are right and these guys all pan out as stars for the Dolphins. Also, as far as the draft is concerned, you don't know how any of these guys will pan out...just wait and see before being super critical...I had to turn my tablet off after the first round pick. Go Dolphins!
