Seattle is viewed as a prime challenger to the Dolphins for both Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn, but Seahawks general manager John Schneider warned Seattle reporters this week not to assume the team will make a major splash at the position.

"I just know if you panic at that position, it can set the organization back,” he said. “So we’re not going to do that. That might disappoint fans, because they want to see an instant guy. But really, you’re better off continuing to build your team.”
Schneider previously worked in Green Bay and has ties to Flynn.

### Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett denied telling a pastor the team’s plans at quarterback during a private conversation, but the story has created a stir in Washington. The pastor, a Redskins fan, posted on a fan website that Haslett told him that the team is interested in Manning, will not pursue Flynn and has already exploring trading up in the draft to grab Robert Griffin III.

### ESPN’s Todd McShay has the Dolphins drafting South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram with its top pick April 26.

cant see ingram as ours. 4-3 guy. seeing upshaw, reiff, decastro, barron, kirkpatrick, tannehill.

Initial reports make it sound like a lot of teams aren't crazy about Flynn. I feel like he will be great and would much prefer him over Manning or RGIII.

What's next, enduro being quoted by Armando Salguero?

Not really a fair comment- this story is all over the Washington Post and elsewhere:

Including your guy, Dave Hyde:

Did Jim Haslett spill the Redskins' quarterback plan?

If so, this is one the quirkier stories and has implications for the Dolphins. A North Carolina pastor and Redskins fan was visiting Washington for his daughter's volleyball tournament and saw Haslett, the Washington defensive coordinator, at a hotel restaurant. He approached Haslett, talked with him for five minutes ... and a few days later posted this blog on the web site Hog Haven.
From their conversation, pastor Rod Denny related how Haslett said (a) the Redskins weren't that interested in Matt Flynn, (b) wanted Peyton Manning and (c) were trying to trade up to get Robert Griffin III.

That touched off a media storm in which Haslett denied saying this to every Washington paper and radio station. The fan stands behind his story.

"If that were me and I found out some guy had put it out on the airwaves, I would probably deny it too,” Denny told Washington Post columnist Mike Wise. “Basically all it was was two guys talking football, and I really had no idea that it would be this big.”

The Dolphins implications here? Well, it seems the Redskins have the same first thought they do -- if you believe this actually is the Redskins plan. The Dolphins are going first after Manning. They would love to trade up for RGIII, but it's probably not within their reach since Cleveland and Washington have the same thoughts and better chips to play.
Matt Flynn? Again, Joe Philbin knows him better than anyone. Maybe he's the guy the Dolphins end up getting. And maybe the Redskins won't be competition.

I wish the pastor had asked Haslett about Ryan Tannehill.

Wost. Pastor. Ever.

I don't like the preacher's attitude about it. He should have been apologetic for running his mouth off and causing problems for Hhaslett and the Redskins organization, and then he should have shut his mouth- permanently.

"I checked with my wife", blah blah blah... he sounds like a douche.

i don't see how news that the skins are very interested in peyton manning should come as a surprise or someone spilling the beans...i mean that should be obvious...its daniel snyder...the writings been on the wall...

say yes to evan jones... erm... I mean matt flynn.

That would be because a lot of people have actually seen very little of Flynn, except Players/Coaches of the Packers, which includes Philbin more so.

If Miami jumps in for a shot at Flynn, you can be sure Phlbin saw what many of them could not with just two quality starts. I agree with you Aqua, Manning is a huge risk, Flynn could be really good to great in Miami, and especially considering Miami will be going to a WCO.

I think as an issurance policy, no matter who they take, Miami should get a QB in the draft in the 3rd or 4th round.

If I were to put odds on who our starter will be in September, I would say....

1. Matt Moore 2-1
2. Matt Flynn 3-1
3. Peyton Manning 10-1
4. Ryan Tannehill 20-1
5. RG3 25-1

I think Flynn to Miami is the most likely fit for free agent QB's....he and Philbin know each other, but Sherman also knows Tannehill well from Texas A&M. I think we probably will sign Flynn and he and Moore will battle it out to start in 2012. I also think we will end up drafting a QB later on, someone like Weeden or Osweiler.

it would surprise me if people in green bay were giving unfavorable reports on flynn...really would...not with all the scuttlebutt in camp i read about just how damn good flynn looked when he got his reps...how the o never skipped a beat when rodgers was out

will shock the heck out of me also if philbin isn't giving ireland and ross his endorsement of flynn... roughly 3 weeks til we find out

If enduro came right out and said who he was and confirmed who his source is (he's only sort of prosaically implied it's Jeff Ireland), then yeah, Armando probably would quote him, making sure to belittle enduro the whole way, no doubt.
