Barry Jackson: Unfulfilled Promises by Dolphins

I hope they get even more depressing and that Ross is reading them. These jokers need to be exposed in order for changes to be made (I would like Philbin gone (if Gruden becomes available) but at a minimum Sherman)

BJ with some depressing articles lately.

by the way the main cuprit for your gash run plays to my eye is philip wheeler...i don't see how it's gonna change...ellerbe misses some things also but wheeler is the ones that's trailing the ball by a yard every time the back gets into the 2nd level or doesn't fill timely..comes down to zero instincts a lack of strength at the poa and a guy that can't get off blocks worth a hoot...he doesn't make plays even when he's clean...

I agree 100%
Wheeler is always a step or two late to the party
It looks like he's playing an uphill game and has shown
no ability whatsoever to create turnovers

Reading that article it sounds like offense and defense both are going the wrong direction and that it is a combination of bad coaching and personnel decisions.

That's why I hope that Ross doesn't waste another year with this coaching staff, and probably Ireland.

I am not a blow it up guy right now. Lose to Tampa on Monday Night...I cannot fathom how low it would go at that point, however.

Wheeler is a horrible acquisition...Complete lack of instincts....he's an athlete that happens to play football...

I would look hard to replace him....either Jenkins or draft someone early (after o-line is address....he is going to continue to be a liability if he stays on the field.

Even after working together since May, Wallace said Tuesday he’s still not completely accustomed to playing with Tannehill. “He’s more of a timing quarterback,” Wallace said. His former QB in Pittsburgh, Ben Roethlisberger, “is a guy who extends plays and makes things happen.”

And you know what that tells me? That tells me that the ball is on it's way before Wallace turns around and he's not ready for it...hence the drops. He likes to see the ball coming and he likes to run around and use his speed and improvise to get open which means he's not used to running crisp routes that this offense calls for. So what we need is for Tannehill to run around like a chicken with his head cut off for a few seconds and then look for Wallace and then maybe Wallace will catch the ball for a change.

im just annoyed that they cant even be honest with us. Everyone sees whats wrong yet still you hear things like " So and so played a goood game, we thought we had a good play and we were going back to it because it worked in the first quarter...I dunno if I like Philbin anymore. Alot of things that need to be addressed that they havent spoken on....Danny Watkins?, Dallas Thomas, why are these guys still here? How and why arent they playing? Can someone come out and be transparent?

exactly...unfprtunately jenkins looks to be the same...better in coverage but strictly an athlete playing lb...

Wallace is not suited for this offense IMO. He's suited for an Erhardt-Perkins or an Air Coryell offense.

Just a thought, but maybe we are in the gun so much because we had the worst pair of tackles ive ever seen . Maybe sherman is thinking the kid will get another half second back there.

The problem with this team is we have no identity on offense. What are we great at? Running the ball? Nah. Then we must have a great passing game, right? ...only not. When you can't protect your QB and your QB can't protect the football, your passing game will struggle.

So we have no strengths on offense, and that's problematic considering we're halfway through the season. I feel like our coaches and GM want us to be a pass first offense, but then why neglect to build a solid offensive line that will protect our young QB? Just a poor job all around. And if your QB is struggling and your pass pro is suspect, then why not commit to running the ball? But REALLY commit to it.

We're not a good passing team, we're not a good running team, we're not a good offensive team. Unfortunately.

yeah, vertical passing offense would probably be what he fits best. Still he doesn't high point the ball, if it's not out in front of him he struggles to make a play on it. He's shown a lack of concentration on a number of occasions when defenders are near him and get in front of his line of sight as well.

However, given is enormous paycheck the team has to find a way to utilize him and set him up for success. Something they haven't shown with anybody yet.
