10. Barry Bonds, Giants: Age and injury have slowed his production considerably this season, but Bonds still excels at one thing: getting on base. He leads the majors with 39 walks (17 intentional) and a .481 on-base percentage.

9. Carlos Delgado, Mets: Only Milwaukee's Carlos Lee and St. Louis' Albert Pujols have hit more home runs in the NL this year than Delgado, who has 13. The former Blue Jays stalwart has hit at least 30 home runs for nine consecutive seasons. Former "Marlin" :boohoo:

8. Derrek Lee, Cubs: Few players hit the ball hard as consistently as Lee, who has been out since late April with a broken wrist. The Cubs are 7-17 since the injury to Lee, who had a breakout season last year with 46 home runs. Former "Marlin" :boohoo:

7. Alex Rodriguez, Yankees: He's off to a slow start this season with only nine home runs, but Rodriguez is the reigning AL MVP and has ample protection in the Yankees' lineup.

6. Vladimir Guerrero, Angels: Expansive plate coverage makes Vlad the Impaler one of the hardest hitters to pitch to in the big leagues. Guerrero has hit 315 career home runs and has never struck out more than 100 times in a season.

5. Manny Ramirez, Red Sox: Last season, the mercurial Ramirez became one of only eight players to top 30 home runs and 100 RBIs for an eighth consecutive season.

See Link for remaining Top 4.

thats such a ridiculous list. they put Bonds at 10 because of age and his decline in #s, but yet they put someone that basically hasnt played all year at 8. Are they not basing it on this year? Bonds still is the most feared hitter. He has the highest OBP and is batting .230.

idk this year its a tie between bonds and pujols imo. any other year i would say barry.

its proably just my homer talking but i think Ortiz is more feared then giambi

The order I don't have too much of a problem with. But, Lee shouldn't be on that list.

And how is Sheffield NOT on that list?

Giambi at 2 is a joke. Yes he's having a great season but I'd much rather pitch to him than Sheffield (as MikeO said).

I'd surprised Shelton or Swisher weren't on that list :rolleyes2

How about Prince Fielder
How about Dave Roberts?

anyway... Carlos Lee should be on the list. and David Ortiz is #2, not Giambi.

Shelton has done nothing since April. Swisher has to prove it longer

I got no problem with Giambi #2 only because back in Oakland Giambi was feared by all. And now he is back to his "oakland self" and is back to being a monster. So, I have no big issue with him #2.

I guess playoffs don't count for this list :chuckle:

Yeah, a lifetime .300+ hitter in the playoffs with a slug % of .534, and on OBP of just under .400! That sucks! :shakeno:

Oh wait, we always IGNORE his Seattle playoff stats because that would ruin everyones fantasy world story! :sidelol:

That would be fine if this was a 2001 list of Baseball's most feared hitters. At this point, I'd take pretty much everyone on that list besides Bonds over Giambi. Hell, give me Travis Hafner over Giambi.

MikeO you said it yourself, the GIAMBINO isn't even the most feared hitter on his team.

I never said that.:shakeno: :shakeno: I said Sheff should be on the list. That's all I said, I never said WHERE Sheff belongs on the list! :shakeno:

Look, youwant Giambi 3rd or 4th, or 10th on the list. OK! Fine. All I said was I got no real problem with the order. AND all I said was Giambi is BACK to his 2001 self. What's the issue?????????????????:shakeno:

Can't you talk without those stupid "shake no" smilies?

You said Giambi was back to his Oakland self, and that's clearly inaccurate. When Giambi wins another MVP and hits .330 with 40+ HRs, we'll talk about him being back to his old form. Until then, he doesn't deserve a spot on this list.. give his spot to Sheffield.

End of story, no need to get all defensive.
