I thought this was an interesting mock for us Dolfans to use b/c McClain and Dez are long gone by 1.12.

And let's throw in free agency, trade and cut assumptions to help us with this mock:

Traded) Ronnie to HOU for Texans 2nd round pick

Every year some dude who you think is a 2nd-3rd rounder ends up slipping. I just snatched him up. On the downside, I did pick this mock b/c the choice was tough at 1.12 with McClain, Dez Bryant and Dan Williams all gone. I think that's exactly what we might be facing too.

But if Spiller ends up like Marshall Faulk, then we're loving that 1st pick.

I also think Aaron Hernandez is a steal in round 3 and a very smart pick for us to add a receiving threat - especially if we miss out on Dez Bryant, and are counting on a raw rookie WR in Demaryius Thomas.

At least this way, if Demaryius isn't really ready to help us as a rookie, then we could roll out our "bunch of 2s" WR core (Hartline/Bess/Camarillo) but at least compliment them with Hernandez/Fasano.

Hell, at least that's better than complimenting them with Ginn/Haynos.

I don't think we're gonna be able to fill NT in FA. Wilfork, Hampton, Franklin and Pickett will all be franchised or signed long term.

i thought about cam thomas at #74 but in the end right now at least i went with the solb worilds...i think there's more upside with worilds

also the gronkowski pick would depend a lot on the prognosis of his back...i'm assuming all is well with that pick...

I think I would cry if that happened. Giving up Ronnie for Daryl Washington? For realz? The mock isn't realistic either, Hernandez with a late 3rd? He's a 1st or early 2nd round pick. With the 12th pick in the 2nd round Thomas would be a reach.

I was gonna say that the Gronkowkski pick in round 2 seemed a little risky. I know Aaron Hernandez is more of a one dimensional receiving TE but in round 3 I thought that he was a good value.

BTW, speaking of values, you have Cam Thomas mocked as our 7th round pick in your sig. Cam is a possible 2nd rounder now.

Why is Ronnie a rental? He's a FA next year but if he plays well next season all we have to do is slap him with the franchise. If healthy he's a top 5 RB. A mid round 2nd round pick for a guy who was the 2nd overall pick and still has tremendous value for this team is not worth that pick.
