I have to respect what the Patsies have been able to do BUT it's funny to see after all of the hoopla over BB's coaching and how great his assistants are to see how they are doing. Crennel - should have been fired; Weis - didn't do so weel in college in year 2; Saban - failed in the NFL after 2 years; All had some initial success year 1 but a big drop off year 2. It will be interesting to see how Mangini does year 2.

Last I checked, BB is currently in the playoffs.

His point is that the media has hyped up the "Belichik Coaching Tree" for the longest time, saying that all of his assistants will succeed and making him out to be the greatest coach and teacher of all time.

Almost all of his assistants who have gone on to get a Head Coach position has failed or isn't doing so great...

We will see what happens next year with Mangini.

Thanks - right on! With all of the hype with the Jets and Mangini the past says he may struggle next year based on what has happened to the others. Seems like the league catches up to them year 2. I brought this up because as I was thinking about potential coaches it's interesting to see who has become successful and where they are from. Is their success something they can carry on and helped shape or was it a product of the system they coached in. Is Cameron an offensive mastermind? Let's hope it's not a product of MartyBall.

Well I don't really believe in that coaching tree crap anyway.

The assistants that left BB didn't take Tom Brady along with them and that is where it ends IMO.

Wasn't his record 9-2 his first year and then 10-2 this year...

He lost big to his 3 toughest opponents - Mich, USC, and LSU in the bowl game. They were beat bad in his 3 big games that is why I say he regressed. Beating Army, Navy, and Air Force doesn't really do much for his capability. He had the supposed #1 QB in the nation and were shut down in the big games.

Perhaps the real problem is the media gave more credit to his assistants then they deserved. Perhaps the real credit should have been given to Belichick. If the game plan is laid out by the head coach and all you are asked to do as the DC or OC is to get your players to execute the game plan then who is the real master mind? Certainly not the assistants, its the boss himself. Belichick is responsible for picking up the right players that fit his scheme and have the attitude he's looking for therefore these assistants are given players that give them the best possible chance to succeed. In the end it's Belichick and the players that make them look good.

I agree...

Very well said!!

Crennel. LMAO. I was wondering what the Browns were doing hiring a guy who was a figurehead DC. Everyone (except the Browns) knew that Belichick was making all the decisions at DC.

What about giving Brady some credit? Belichicks team would look much more average without him
