I am extremely excited about having AJ as our starting QB. I really like his arm strength, fire and overall potential. That being said, we need to understand that he is still inexperienced and there will be growing pains. Just look at what happened to Hasselbeck his first year in Seattle. He struggled quiet a bit, now he is a Pro Bowl QB. If Wanny doesn't stick with AJ then he is just delaying the growing process. Best of all, I think that AJ's play making abilities with his strong arm will make up for his inexperience in a lot of ways. Maybe, for once, we can make teams respect his deep ball which will likely help the running attack. All in all, I am just excited that the Fiedler era appears over and we have a young, promising QB to watch and hopefully get better each week. :) :) :)

Don't count of Wanny being patient. With each loss, he will be more desperate to win. As many have concluded, Feeley should have been given the starting job and worked mainly with the first team at least a month ago. Instead we get a split with Fiedler, when AJ really needed the work to help him get ready.
He will make mistakes as he grows. Wanny can't afford to have a losing season though, so I think we'll see a QB shuffle through the year as Dave tries to get 9-10 wins.
Toward the last part of the season, Feeley should be clearly improved, or we should have an idea if he really is the answer at QB. That will be good for the team to know, but does Wanny no good in keeping his job, hence he will yank AJ and not allow him to gain confidence. See, what is best for the team is not necessarily best for Wanny right now. One of the disadvantages to having a coach on the hot seat.

AJ showed some good things vs the Titans. Hopfully DOLFANS will get behind him and be a positive force in a time that alot of negativity is flying around.

I don't think AJ deserves to be named starter for the season, and I don't think it is realistic to expect this to happen. Even if it did happen, that is no guarantee that the team would stay with him no matter what.
I want DW to be patient with AJ, and I think he deserves a good 4 game stretch. I don't think anything more than that is really feasible in the NFL, at least when there is a coach who is coaching for his job. Hopefully, AJ will put the issue to rest early and often on the way to a good season for him.

Logic, rarely used on here.
The only reason that I could possibly agree with that statement is if we were considered a Super Bowl team, in which, we are not. We have a lot of pro bowlers on defense and they are aging and are growing tired of the offense not pulling their weight. That being said, our offense almost looks brand-spanking new off the showroom floor. The additions of Booker, Gordon, Boston (though injured and just worth a mention,) Feeley, and new Offense Coordinator Foerster does, IMO, need time to learn the Dolphins system. So any hope of this team becoming a Super Bowl contender is a wish for me, just not a realistic thought.Jimmy James said:

The hopes of this season are not over for those Fiedler supporters. A.J.is going to have his growing pains as he and every first year qb starters do (look at Peyton Manning, Joey Harrington ((who A.J. played behind in Oregon,)) Matt Hasselback, etc). I'm sure that list could go a lot longer. By no way am I calling A.J. Feeley one of those QB's or trying to put him on the same plateau, he has to prove himself just like those listed QB's did. All I can do, and all anyone else here can do, is wait and be patient.

I think that this chaotic year should lend itself to feeley getting the playing time no matter what. Feidler is not the answer, thats proven. CHeating the team of its future to eek out one or two more wins is silly and should not be allowedJimmy James said:

I couldn't agree more. I have always felt that AJ should have been the starter in the first place regardless of how he did in pre-season. You got to feed him a bone to get going, a guy like AJ has been under the wings too long. It is time to let him fly! We know what Fiedler can do and I like him as a back up qb at best. I'm glad Wanny will start him against Cincy and I have the patience to see what AJ will do, mind you.

Oh, I'm sure AJ will have those growing pains. I'll be the first guy here to call people down for ravaging him because he throws a bad pass for an INT or takes a bad sack on occasion. At the same time, he needs to know that he has to show sufficient promise at some point over the next few weeks if he wants to keep playing.
