Beat the Bucs!

I know it's only preseason, but i can't wait for our first game. At least it's football. We have all been without football for too long. (No, the AFL does not count because it sucks.)

Okay getting to the matter at hand, We take on the Bucs first. Personally, next to the 3 other AFC East teams I can't stand the Bucs. I'm looking forward to us beating them. I just wish it was a regular season game so it will count. I guess I just have to wait till we play them 09. There have been some great pre/regular season games played between the Phins and Bucs. Anybody remember that 2001 preseason game when we were losing in Tampa and there was like 5 seconds left, and some 4th stringer threw up a hail mary and somehow some WR caught it and we won. Only the die hard phins fans will remember that one. Sorry for being nostalgic.

I hope to see some new guys in our front 7 get some sacks, some good passes from Henne, and our O-line to give our QB's plenty of time to throw. Yeah yeah yeah I know it's only preseason, but i'm looking forward to it. We have something to look forward to with Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano running things.
 
It became real for me the moment I looked it up on the DVR and pressed record. Seeing it in writing and knowing that it's less than a week was pretty much enough for me to just about faint.

I love the preseason much more than your typical NFL fan. I think the same goes for a lot of us here. Seeing all those young players. Watching the starting spots get snatched up, scrubs fighting to stay on the team.

I can't however, say that I love having a QB competition every year. It would be nice just for once to go into the season knowing who is taking the snaps. Hopefully next year.

Die hard fans would know the QB who threw the 40+yd TD for the game winner. By the way, it was QB Mike Quinn connecting with WR Robert Baker (known as the Auburn player almost biten by UGA). Good memories!!

Thank you, I was having trouble remembering those guys. I remember the lousy Bucs safety on the play who tried to catch the ball instead of knocking it down, it was Eric Vance.

I love it just as much as you do. Saturday cannot come faster. I don't care if it's just preseason, it's like the real thing compared to watching baseball the past 3 months.
 
Irronically his last name was Quinn! I was so happy! Then I was so upset that we got rid of him! Lol, what it was like to be young
 
Man I can't wait to see the 1st preseason game, I'm gonna record it and FF and RW it till I get to look at every O-lineman and D-lineman separately.

I wanna see Jake and Don Thomas, see if Satele can control his man. Langford, Merling on D. It's going to be great..
 
the preseason bugs me sorry. I know its football, but its like kissing your sister. It feels good but you know its just wrong..... Ok maybe its more like kissing your really hot cousin, but you get the point. Honestly the schould drop a preseason game because with our run of injuries last year i dont think we schould be taking chances.
 
FWIW, Dolphins are favored by 2.

Over/under is 33, some joints 32.5.

Kudos to the Colts tonight, their typical preseason non-cover. :D
 
Should be a good test for our D-linemen as the Bucs have drafted a lot of O-line men early in the draft lately. At least we will see if our own O-line is as bad as our D has made it look. Can't wait!

Our OL was bound to look bad at first, 4 of our 5 starters weren't there last year. Long, Smiley and Thomas are new aquisitions, and Carey is switching from LT to RT, our only returning starter is a 2nd year C. The talent is there, it's just a matter of learning to play together as a unit.
 
I think the game will be shown here in Tampa on Channel 28 or Channel 10... I can't remember which station gets the dump rights when its a preseason or is otherwise not shown locally by any of the other big stations.

This still sucks for me... I live in Brooksville and we get only station without cable which does not come out to our area... looks like I may be hitting a bar to watch the first qtr...
