In his latest "Inside the NFL" column, SI's Don Banks writes

"There are league observers who believe Beck and the Dolphins could be a poor match, since he's not very big and his West Coast-style game might be ill-suited for the tough, physical brand of cold-weather football that three of the four AFC East teams play."

I can't believe these "league observers". Beck hasn't played a snap in a game, and they are already saying that he's a poor fit????? Give me a break...:fire:

These guys don't know Beck very well.

This is one of the reasons Cam likes him so much because he IS suited for exactly that. He's very good on the road.

Well if his style is a poor fit for Miami then none of them can really claim that Miami made the wrong choice in choosing Culpepper over Brees.

Good on the road isn't necessarily good in the cold and unfortunately we just don't have a lot of history of him playing in cold weather and in sub-optimal conditions.

I wouldn't consider BYU west-coast. If Beck was coached by Jeff Tedford, then I'd be worried. This writer is definitely talking out of his azzz

Meanwhile he played at BYU, in the cold, in the snow, in the high altitude.

Thank you, I have many family members who live in the provo area and it gets very cold there. He should be fine. Cameron would not have chose him if he had any doubts about what he was getting.

Obviously these writers are still upset we didn't draft Brady Quinn.

Banks, going back to his days writing in the Tampa market, has always had a bit of anti-Dolphins tilt to his articles.

And Pennington is such a Large QB....all of his success is due to his stature.. lucky for the Jets because they play in the cold a lot more than Miami.:shakeno:

:sidelol:

Clearly they have a point.
I mean Utah is known for it's year round beach weather.
Certainly Beck never played in inclement cold weather or snow in the Mount West conf.
My God...... :shakeno:

Oh no so now what can we do????? trade him or release him????? the truth is that not even Beck know how things are going to be here till he plays so i really dont pay attention to espn or any of this other people that talk all that .... n at the end they dont know much

They did utilize Mike Leach-style offensive line schemes.

Beck actually played in a few different kinds of offenses at BYU. It kind of reminds me of Jason Campbell's situation at Auburn. He had three different offenses in three years and then when they finally kept one offense in place from year to year, he broke out. Well, Beck has always set a certain standard of performance but he definitely broke out in a big way in 2006 when I think for the first time since he got there they kept the same offense from year to year. It is certainly undeniable that the John Beck we saw in 2004, making it rain with deep pass after deep pass, was not the John Beck we saw in 2005, who operated a quick almost west coast type offense.

These personnel guys are just being nit-picky.
