i hate these picks big time....we draft ginn when we should of taken quinn or traded that pick and we draft beck when edwards was still there ..r u kidding me ??? i know there r many who love these 2 so im not trying 2 rain on your parades but lets look at it this way we bascially drafted a pr/kr with the # 9 overall pick...we look like fools and every 1 is saying it...doesnt make sense..well i was duked again my the phins organization...what is oour 3rd pick gonan be mason crosby ?

A little FYI...they are up to pick 20 of the third round, and your pick Edwards is still available. This is pathetic, reading all these cry babies complain about players that most have no clue about, or how everyone is jumping ship. Real embarrassing being a Fin fan right now.

ginn was the guy i wanted if quinn wasnt there....but im happy
same, while i was shocked and disapointed that we past on quinn if the FO thought there wasn't much difference between him and beck and thought ginn would be a gamebreaker you can't blame them.

Why should we have gotten Quinn? Is there some secret reason that only you know about that Miami doesn't?

Thats the problem with the draft. Many of the fans out there dont know a damn thing about any player. Quinn is a high profile player so therefore many know who he is. Who's heard of Beck? Who's heard of Setele?

Name recognition plays a big part in being a fan. It shows here that many of the fans on this board don't know anyone that isnt a 'popular' player

I was uneasy about Quinn from the beginning. I would have been ambivalent about him being drafted. There really is no sure thing in the draft, so I can't quite understand the doom and gloom of passing on him.

My personal preference was for Okoye. I just have a good feeling about him. Other than that it's wait and see. How can it be anything else? I admit there's a little nervousness that we'll be reminded of this decision on some Sportscenter "Top 25 Worst Draft Decisions" segment in a few years, but I'd like to see where this goes.

I wonder if all the bloodthirsty fans watched anything beyond Quinn's highlight clips?

No, Crosby can actually play. Malcolm (Cameron's real first name) and Mueller waited until Ryan Kalil was off the board (Panthers) and then selected a short armed center from Hawaii because I'm sure they had him rated higher than Kalil.

And to all the posters who are calling for the fan base to get behind the team's leadership on these picks, give it a rest. Ted Ginn is a punt returner. You could have had Yamon Figurs in the second round to return punts, he's very good at it and he can put weight on both of his feet.

Randy Mueller did not impress me today at all. He did not get value anywhere although I think Satele will be nice at C. We finally got a Center.......Booker at RB? Say goodbye to Ricky? I think so..... Marty Booker, gone, Ricky, gone.

I was ecstatic when the Vikings took Peterson because I knew there was nothing between us and Quinn. I made a joke to my brother saying "With the 9th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, The Miami Dolphins select WR Ted Ginn Jr." and we both laughed it off. I found it inconceivable that they would not select Quinn, but when they actually went for Ginn I was infuriated beyond words for many reasons.
  1. Why take an injured WR who really didn't show that much other than special team ability (mostly due to his speed) so high?
  2. It would've made more sense to take a CB (Hall, Revis) if you didn't want Brady Quinn than take a Ted Ginn based on speed
  3. Other than the obvious Calvin Johnson, he is not even the best, most polished WR in the draft.
I still don't agree with the decision, but after listening to the post 1st day press conference at Miamidolphins.com, I must say, I'll put all my trust in the decisions of Randy and Cam. Cam seems extremely intelligent and meticulous, and as a die hard fan for the last 12 years I want their decisions to work even if I don't agree with them.

But to everyone flaming those who are upset and complains about this pick, you have to give some leeway. For the past 10+ years, what this organization has been doing with their 1st round picks (with the exception of Ronnie Brown) can not be deemed acceptable. So fans are getting more and more frustrated waiting to be proud of our 1st rounders and we are disappointed every April. I hope to god that I'm wrong this year..GO PHINS!!!
