Beck, Booker miss OTA's for....endorsements?

Coach Cam isn't pleased

The scheduling of the Rookie Premiere is causing controversy league-wide, as some high-profile players are being forced to miss their team's minicamp practices. Dolphins coach Cam Cameron is expected to address the situation after today's OCS is completed

As are a bunch of other guys it seems. Can you blame them?

on the plus side, 3 of our rook's were chosen to be commercial stars out of 35 selected. at least our so-called 'bad' draft and offseason produced some TV stars :)

I can't wait to get all their football cards. It was really hard trying to get excited about rookie cards from our past few drafts.

Didn't see this posted yet, but this article disturbed me a little. Since when should this pre-empt a rooks practice time?

Well, unlike Brandon Jackson, at least they aren't missing actual minicamps. This is an NFL sanctioned event and they have to attend. Same as Jackson (Green Bay RB)....

This is not their choice is what I am trying to say..it's not about them missing practice for a personal endorsement. This is required by the NFL...

I think I heard on ESPN about one rookie who actually got fined or something because he didn't go to the Rookie Premiere thing. He went to his mini-camp because he wanted to get with the team and make a good impression on the coaches, etc. I guess making money for the NFL comes before practice. :shakeno:

The coaches have known about this for many weeks. If they thought if was important that they be there, would have moved it.

Actually, drafted rookies cannot participate in OTA's until their college semesters are completed. That will keep Ted Ginn out of our next minicamp.
