Beck = Griese ?

I'd like to see him play a game or two before we annoint him as a hall of famer.
 
That would be great. Bob Griese had the respect of his very talented teamates. He was very athletic and was very cool under pressure. He used his intellect to dissect defenses and use the talent around him to keep opponents off balance. As Dolfans, it would be great if Beck could lead and play like Bob Griese.
 
Bob was a cerebral QB. Not sure I'd anoint Beck as that just yet. Heck, if he can produce like Brian Griese did during his stint with Tampa (where he showed that Miami was a black hole for QB's under Wannygate) and Denver (an efficient Pro Bowl season no less), I'd be satisfied.
 
I'm not anointing Beck or claiming he will turn out to be a great player, I'm just imagining what type of player he could turn out to be in a best case scenario. From what I have read, he reminds me of Bob Griese. I know everyone dreams of the next Marino, but I would certainly take a a QB who plays like, and leads like Griese did.
 
If Beck is as good as Bob Griese, then we made the right picks. But he isn't Bob Griese yet.

beck will be a good Qb, good arm,accurate, smart, mobile. I dont understand why do we want to compare athletes to players who played thirty years ago.
Griese would not make a team as a starter if he were playing today. I love the dolphins but come on guys,now Marino thats who we want Beck to be like but thats impossible.

I am thinking that Beck will be the next Beck. Calling players the next "whatever" isn't logical. Every player plays differently and has a different style. No two players are alike.
