I was thinking about this, this morning. It occured to me that we have not yet signed Chad Henne to a contract, and Josh McCown decided to rip into finger(on his throwing hand) with a chainsaw. Now I know he is expected back and healthy by training camp, but I personally dont think he will be at 100% with that finger. That only leaves one man, Jonny Beck. So tell me, is this a relevent scenario, or am i just over thinking things?

I think he's gonna win it out regardless of the scenario.....but I was thinking the same thing. However, it's better for the team if all 3 are there and healthy competing against one another, that only makes us better yoiu know.

I agree with that 1,000,000% competition only makes them better, and if you dont have anyone to compete with how much better are you really going to get

Yeah, want all 3 in camp day one and I think they will be. From everything I have read the finger will be fine and was testing it in the parking lot right after getting sewn up. Henne will sign before camp and there will be a true QB competition to which I am really looking forward. Yeah, things are gonna get really interesting around here real quick.

In my opinion, you're over thinking things....

There is still a long way to go, and I'm sure that Henne will be signed in time to participate at the opening of training camp. As for McCown, the injury to his finger was only minor, so I don't know why people are making such a big thing about it....

They will all be ready to compete once training camp is here....

I know this was posted somewhere on here before, but geez the guy was a mid second round pick. Sign already!!! You ain't all that.

Personally I don't think Henne has much of a shot this year. If he does, it's because hes good enough. in which case all the better. But I just don't see it. As for McCown, I hardly think the injury will keep him out of the running. Of course all this is just my opinion, but I think we'll see a good competition in camp.

Injury or not, McCown will still be 3rd on the depth chart when the season starts.

He's a professional athlete i think Mccown can handle some stitches on his finger

Well it's a perfect scenario for WV and Dlockz. John Beck was going to start anyway, and he'll probably be pretty good, only now WV and Dlockz can say he just won the job because there was no-one else, and therefore they won't have to eat their hats.

Highly unlikely, and given the fact that McCown has the most experience, I think he should be considered the safest choice to start heading into training camp. Experience usually always trumps in these types of situations, so I think it's going to be McCown's job to lose until either Beck / Henne are able to prove otherwise...

Beck was garbage a year ago, and he certainly has the most to prove. If he doesn't show some significant changes / improvement this season, I think he'll likely end up fading away into nothingness. He's already forced to play catch up considering his age, and nobody is going to want to risk taking a chance on a 30 year old back-up....

As for Henne, {being hand picked by the new regime}, it wouldn't surprise me to see him starting at some point this season. He's the future, and I'm sure that Parcells / Sparano are going to want to see him get some experience before the end of the season....

Since McCown has already fired (his word) passes and said he could have played in a game that day I don't see why anyone would think that 6 stitches now would hamper him much later on.

I dont see Chad Henne getting any PT this year besides preseason games. Parcells hates to switch QB's especially if the other QB is younger and unexperienced.

Bill parcells took FOREVER to make the switch from Drew Bledsoe to Tony Romo in Dallas

Beck may have been garbage for 3 games, he actually played okay in the last game, but McCown has been garbage for his entire 5 years in the NFL. McCown was signed to be a backup. If he starts over Henne and Beck the entire season, both Henne and Beck will be looking for a new place to play next season and the Dolphins will be drafting a QB with the first pick in next years NFL draft.
