Hi,

While we are celebrated ourselves with John Beck, Eagles fans and McNabb are obviously not. And before the draft CK mentioned Dolphins are very high on Kolb. Was it just a smokescreen or is Kolb really better than Beck?

Who do you take if both were available?

Either. All of the QBs have their flaws, but I believe both Kolb and Beck can get the job done.

welcome sir, glad you joined us this morning.,.. I think every indication is we had Beck at the number two spot behind Jamarcus. When we passed on Quinn, my personal hope was Kolb... but again, that was more mis-information than solid knowledge. "I" was sold on the "fact" that our staff had Quinn in our sights, and then Kolb. Had I payed better attention, and been less a homer, I would have seen the clues that we were going the direction we did.

I think Beck had a better completion percentage so I pick him. I'm tired of incomplete passes.

Now here's an upstanding and honest post. You sir, and finfanincali should teach a class.

I think the main reasons for us wanting Beck a little more than Kolb was due to the immeasurables. I think Beck is more cerebral and doesn't get rattled. I think the upside on Kolb is much greater as his physical skill set is a great combination of both speed/scrambling with a nice arm which allows him to make all of the throws.

For the Dolphins, with the chance that you could need an immediate starting option at QB, Beck was the best choice. For the Eagles, looking for a developmental QB with upside, Kolb was a better choice than the already 26-year old Beck. I think both of them end up better than Brady Quinn.

I agree that Kolb has more upside, but U think you have to be careful with physical potential sometimes. You have to remember this guy played in the same offensive system since high school. It's going to be difficult to get this guy to get away from what he's been doing for a long time and learn a pro style offense. Jon Beck was definetly the better choice for the Dolphins.

I'll admit I was disappointed when the Eagles snatched up Kolb...I'm still happy we got Beck though.

i still go with beck. Talent wise the second tier qb are all about the same but beck is a morman. which means the man doesnt even drink coffee. With the drug suspension and rookies shooting up titty bars that seems to be common place in the nfl today. A strong deeply religous character guy is the best pick. If yopu didnt pick up on the hints hes dropping. theres a new sherrif in town and godell doesnt mess around. Beck is a good pick because i think he can stay out of trouble.

Funny, but from what I heard if John Beck wasn't available and either Kolb or Edwards were, the Dolphins would have picked Edwards. Don't know how accurate that is but that's what I read somewhere.

Beck is gonna be way better because he had a much better college career and won't get in trouble. also he led BYU to a higher ranking than Quinn's Notre Dame team

John Beck said after the Dolphins picked Ginn.. That the Dolphins were talking to Edwards and him on the phone keeping in touch all the way through the first round. They were affraid Beck was gonna picked before they picked again. And if if he did they were in fact gonna pick Edwards, Kolb was never on our radar. Kolb is a west coast offense QB. He would not fit in Cams offense at all. Kolb is a Jeff Garcia type of QB. But Kolb will do really well he has a good arm.

A NFL player does not neccesarily have to have those qualities to be successusful in the NFL, but they cannot hurt to have them, and for a rookie QB, they are essential skills that help advance development.

After the Ricky fiasco, and perhaps the Culpepper issues, I find that Beck's outlook to be only positive.

Beck and Kolb both have the chance to be good. However, we won't be able to compare them in the future. They will be playing in different offensive systems (i.e. Feeley sucked for us, but is a nice fit for Philly).

What we will be able to compare who is the professional and dedicated player. Who will sacrifice the most for his team?
