I watched the game...have not replayed it but on first glance MHO on TATE AND BECK.....no thanks....Rowe looked better but not a day 1 guy IMHO....time to look on IMHO to guys like Kolb, Stanbach, Rascati, Zabransky, Leak, Edwards and others for a mid late QB.....

Tate has the longest windup since Luis Tiant IMHO and Beck has less pocket presence than the penny I found in my jacket pocket the other day.

if quinn or russell aren't available at #9, which they probably won't be, what about stanton in the 2nd; edwards or kolb in the 3rd? other than that, no one jumps out.

Wait for the Senior Bowl. There will be more qurterbacks to watch. [Tyler Palko, Jordan Palmer, etc..]

I'm not sold on Tate though he reminds me a little of Brees. Beck is okay but you are right about pocket presence. He has to release quickly otherwise he gets clobbered and w/ the current state of the phins OL.

I like Rowe but agree he is not a 1st day pick... A 4th may be stretching it unless he really tears it up @ the combine. Kolb has that certain gunslinger mentality ala Favre. He, too, is an intriguing prospect.

so wait is this in your opinion?

Jeff Rowe looked pretty good out there. He's 6'5, 225 lbs, and showed that he could throw the long ball, so I think that a 4th for this guy would not be a reach at all. We'll get a better idea after the combines though...

Stanton is a probably 3rd-4th round pick. Hes got athleticism but he's a bit of a bonehead.

The Senior Bowl is the bowl to watch because it's a bit more prestigious and the best college seniors are invited ( Although as we all know Drew Tate is a much better QB than Chris Leak! )

you guys arent judging a qb just on one game alone are you ?because a qb can have a more hot/cold streak then any position in the nfl and i would take knolb or tate or the rowe kid but no to stanton because he is a joey harrington clone .:shakeno: :sidelol:

I can't speak for other but I have not seen Beck play other than the AS game....as for Tate I have seen him a few times but not really looking close at his game...more as "just a fan". There are things that can be misinterpreted in watching 1 game but Becks lack of awarness of practically everyone around him and Tate's throwing motion (he seems to have to REALLY wind up to get anything on the ball, very long release) are not some of them ....IMHO..... personally I liked rowe a little bit he seemed to have a strong arm and was decisive with the ball and had a pretty good (quick, high, natural) release. Personally I like Kolb much more than the others mentioned..I agree totally on Stanton and on top of all the physical issues he seems to pout and it sure does not look like at least on TV that his teammates are big fans....kind of like his head case kindred spirit Jeff Smoker...

Truth is...because we jump up a few slots in the 2nd round: the 7th pick in the 2nd round...we should be able to draft us 2 quality players in the first two rounds of this year's draft.

Thanks for us losing the games that we did at the end of the seaosn when there was a cult of fans wanting us to win out...:shakeno:

They were so shallow minded that they wanted to mess up our future "just to beat the Jets and the Bills"...ridiculous!!!

Thank God we have a top ten pick in every round now!!! :cooldude:

That's an offense to call anyone that name!!!

If we do that...we will be losing out on a top quality C or G that should be available at the 7th pick of the 2nd round...

I say wait for the 3rd or 4th round to draft a QB. Especially since we can draft another QB next season if he's trash...Culpepper and Lemon are both young...the QB doesnt need to be one that can start next season...a developmental one should be fine to have as the 3rd stringer.
