Between the talk of now being close to signing Pennington, the reports of McCown looking better than Beck in training camp, and the simple fact that we drafted Henne with a very high pick after drafting Beck in the 2'nd round the previous year, I don't think things are looking good for him.

I guess you haven't been keeping up on camp reports, lately it has been Beck who has been looking good and McCown bad. I think McCown is on the way out.

Nah, Beck isn't on the way out. It's the person who never should've been here in the first place which is that colossal failure and loser, Josh McClown!

Beck is the answer GUYS he is taking hold on the starting job some of you got to realize he still is a Rookie. So stop bashing. Alright and be supportive. Enough OF you THINK YOUR GENERAL MANAGERS GO PLAY MADDEN.

Even if Beck has been looking better for the last couple days he definitely hasn't locked up the starting job like he should be able to. I don't think it's clear cut at all that he will even be on this team let alone be a starter. Plus he was the last coaching staff's player, not Parcells' guy etc etc. and he looked HORRIBLE last year in every game he played. He might be given a chance at some point this year though but I think the leash is very very short.

McCown is the odd man out. The Fins aren't going to let go of Beck. It's still too soon. They know what McCown can do. They have game tapes and seen him in practice. Beck is still untapped potential. You don't cut a second round pick in his second year.

Suggest you pay attention to training camp 'cause Beck has been outclassing both of them as of late. The offense in general has looked inept in pretty much every category with the exception of Ricky, so I guess Beck edging out the competition isn't saying much, but still, your assessment of the situation is completely backwards.

In the event we bring in Pennington, McCown would be the odd man out. Chad would come, more than likely, cheaper than McCown and with a proven track record, as well as knowing the system of a division rival.

There's no way in hell Parcells would dump a 2nd year guy who hasn't been given a decent opportunity to prove himself over a career journeyman who's basically hit his peak as nothing more than a backup.

My post was to the so called general managers not to the posters who are not knowledgeable, and realistic on here. LETS JUST WATCH SOME GAMES AND SEE WHO COMES OUT ALRIGHT... THANK YOU

It would be foolish to cut a 2nd year, high draft pick that has improved, especially on a rebuilding team that is still searching for an answer at qb.

McCown becomes expendible if Penny is signed. We replace our veteran with a better veteran.
