Beck's agent, Justin Schulman, said he expects him to be signed by the beginning of training camp. Rookies are scheduled to report Sunday and begin practice Tuesday. (Veterans report July 27 and take the field July 28.)

"Our intent is that he's there," Schulman said this week.

More good News..... Im still wondering whats going on with Mormino, he should sign soon. Great News on Beck.....

Not sure if I see this as optimistic or not. All agents and players "intend" to be in camp on time. But obviously, that's not always the case.

My "intent" is to not backhand my kids for talking back...

My "intent" was to stop at that red light I just passed through...

My "intent" was to believe DC was our savior...

I posted this with the hope that some of you would atleast be a bit excited about the possibilty of having our Future QB in time at Camp. I understand some of you are still hurting over the fact we did not pick Quinn, but he maybe osme of you wanted an over hype QB who threw wounded Duck long and is gonna hold despite being picked 22nd overall.

No-one's talking about Quinn. The point is that it was a pretty useless article because every rookie intends to be in to camp on time. Even Quinn who is undoubtedly going to hold out intends to be in camp on time.
The 'expected to be signed by the beginning of TC' is encouraging but not a direct quote either, not to mention again that most rookies expect to be signed by the beginning of TC.

Im just trying o have a little optimism here. Sometimes you guys sound like fans from other teams.

I, too, believe that John will be in camp on time. Both he and Ginn have said that that is their intention, so why wouldn't they have their agents instructed to do just that? I just can't see John Beck wanting to miss any time, that is not his nature so when the rookies take the field on Tuesday I'm sure John and Ted will be there.

Me and my buddy (who is a Colts fan) got into an argument about the Fins QB's. He said we have no chance with Green and we should have took Quinn. I said, Beck is outstanding, a team player, and a good man. He shut up. He had nothing to say and I'll tell u why. Quinn wanted the star status and the fame and money. He will choke mark my works. Beck will sign and sit in the wings for awhile and be fine. Don't worry about Beck signing. It will get done. After all his agent isn't Drew Rosenhaus.

This was tucked away in a Daunte article this morning in the Herald

Ginn's agent, Neil Cornrich, has said he would not discuss negotiations before they are completed.

Beck's father, Wendell Beck, said Thursday his son has no intentions of holding out.

Center Drew Mormino, a sixth-round pick from Central Michigan, also has yet to finish his deal.

well like the guy said other day on dolphins radio ginn will sign when guy around him like 5th and 12pick guy sign because they are waiting on price of market

No problem with optimism. But, when you see and hear this every year and it doesn't happen, you learn not to put too much faith in it. I'm optimistic that he'll sign before camp. But what his agent said really has not had any bearing on my optimism in this regard.

I was wondering if the Dolphins have ever had a second round pick hold out for a better contract?

Well it would be great of course if he signed and does not miss a day of camp. We don't another year of hold outs. That trend needs to stop this year. Our future qb needs all the TC time (over the next couple of years especially) he can get.
