:tantrum:You guys need to embrace this kid and hope he picks up the system quickly. In MIA, at the games, the fans can be embarrassingly harsh on QBs. Marino's actual legacy is that he spoiled us. I never was a Fiedler fan, but I remember how hard we all were on him. He never had the physical qualities to fill the shoes of his predecessor, but he played his heart out and we booed him. We actually were clamoring for a crybaby (and former JET) Ray Lucas! (Who can forget those six turnovers against Buffalo?) Daunte was injured, no matter what anybody on the team said, he was not ready and yet he forced himself to come back early. We booed him. One moment, he was the third coming, the next (in the same game), he was AJ Feeley.

Nobody can tell what will happen in the coming years, I don't even know if Beck is going to be much better than Fiedler, but I do know I don't like the looks of Quinn compared to this kid. He looks really good. It IS college, and I don't know how many real teams he faced, but his mechanics look good. He doesn't look flustered. He seems mature, smart and quick. He is a little old, but it isn't football old. He took some 3-year sabbatical, which I imagine takes discipline. I think this guy could be playing for several good years, if we don't ruin him with our brutal impatience. Marino is gone, guys and gals. Has been, for almost a decade now. Let's just watch how it all plays out and quit all the booing. Watching the fans react to new coach Cam Cameron was embarrassing.

This video has been posted, but it is a good finish to this post. Check it out.

No Way!

Sorry to make it seem like that. I don't know ****. I was merely offering a good view of this guy and asking to quell the boos.

I like Beck. I hope he pans out and can be a player in this league.

Your response shows insight and a real understanding of what quarterback coaches like Cam and Terry Shea know: the most important qualities that you want your Q.B. to have are not size and arm strength, but leadership and accuracy, two of Beck's strengths. Russel wasn't picked #1 solely because he had the first two qualities, but because he had the freakish combination of all four. Add to that the maturity Beck will get real quick as a husband and father, I'm feeling much better on passing on Quinn in the ninth.

His 3 year sabbatical was for a church mission. Nice player of character IMO.

There's only one Tom Brady, but Beck is coming in with the same tools/attributes as Brady........XTremely accurate among other things. One things for sure......we're all going to see it firsthand......."Win or Lose"....."Happy or Not with decisions that are made".........Those are my boys.....I AM A FIN4LIFE!!!!!!!1

just heard interviews with Ginn Jr. and Beck, they both sounded great, particurlaly Beck, Beck sounds very intelligent and has great attitude, I like what heard. It was on WQAM , the Big O was doing the interviewing.
