I really enjoyed the previous threads after games from message boards and I didn't see one - so here is a starter.

One of the best was from Johnathan Vilma on the Gang Green board under the thread "Toilet Bowles has to go".

I mean I'm usually not in favor of cutting bait with regimes quickly, but the team has quit. Even in the year we brought Vinny Testaverde back, and the terrible season under Rex they didn't look like they quit like this.

125 total yards vs. the 30th ranked NFL defense. Putrid.

Rontez Miles and Fitzpatrick look to be the only two players that care.

At least the franchise is being embarrassed on National TV and it's not against a division rival.

Petty needs to be in no matter what.

We also have one sack against a team that's only given up less sacks than one team; the defeated Browns.

They should all be ashamed of themselves.

And yes this is Johnathan Vilma - someone asked him later in the thread:

Are you really JV or is that just a screen name.
Are you serious? You really think I would insult someone by not using my real name? Of course I'm really Jonathan Vilma. Mr. Vilma to you.

And does this sound familiar?

At the very least, Gailey has got to go. I'd shed zero tears if they made it a clean sweep though.
^^This would be only a good start. The entire team is adrift in a sea of incompetence. The franchise-wide disorganization, however, isn't going to change until Woody has left the scene. But the team on-field can get better almost immediately with Bowles' departure. I've never seen such complete chaos. There aren't two people on the same page.

There are a few Jets boards and I'm sure that you will find a lot there. Happy Sunday!

Fun to read. Also interesting to see how much of a jackass Jonathan Vilma is. Errrr, I mean Mr. Vilma.

They also had some fun with the Landry catch and run in the thread - Jarvis Landry r

They also had some fun with the Landry catch and run in the thread - Jarvis Landry runs a 4.77

...and Pryor could not even close to tackling him even with pursuit angle advantage...SMH

To be fair... he was timed that while hurt. Had an injury but worked out at the combine anyway. He's clearly faster than 4.77...

Also to be fair, Pryor was running half speed and hardly trying.

and

That play will potentially cost me my fantasy matchup and 1500 bucks so thanks Obama

I was waiting for this! Thanks!

Just HOW bad are the Jets' Special Teams? ...

Well ... in the 30 games under Bowles, the Jets have now given up NINE touchdowns on Special Teams.

1 Kickoff Return (Dolphins)
2 Punt Returns (Eagles, Giants)
2 Blocked Punts (Redskins, Dolphins)
1 Snap through the punter's hands, recovered in the end zone (Ravens)
3 Fumbled Kickoff Retuns that were returned for TD's (Bills, Bills, Chiefs)

That number isn't just bad ... it's incomprehensible. I'd be surprised if there's another team in the league that has given up even half that amount over the past 30 games. I bet the Patriots haven't given up nine ST touchdowns in the past nine years. And I'm not even counting the assorted fumbles, muffs, blocked FG's, long returns, and 20 yard punts that lead directly to touchdowns. There's plenty to fix on this team, but this needs to be near the top of the list.

the best response:

I'd make a joke about Jets Special Teams participating in the Special Olympics, but I don't want to insult people who deal with real disabilities every day.

(plus it's not clear that the Jets ST would win there either...)

Buckle up, boys. Only the finest Jets tears for my friends on Finheaven on this FINE Sunday morning.

Starting with this first post, from a guy who has been posting at TGG for 13 years and who has over 40,000 posts there:

Go Patriots, Go Bills!

Because we'll get an excellent draft pick, right?

No.

Because the Jets are a **** organization that deserves to lose.

Why root for this garbage?

Why even discuss it?

The Jets continue to make money, and will continue to do it until the NFL eventually puts their money into a different enterprise and the football enterprise folds. They'll skip off to more billions and you'll be sitting there thinking WTF.

I know everyone on this forum thinks that "someday the Jets will have their day."

Your dream is telling the oranges they were wrong. YOU were the guy that BELIEVED.

That's not going to happen. You will buy jerseys and tickets and TV subscriptions for years, with that carrot hanging in front of your face.

Then the game will become obsolete, team owners will have leveraged their money into some other product, and you know what you'll be?

The ultimate losers.

Stop wasting your money on a product that has been making itself obsolete. The only person your loyalty matters to is you. Your team owner cares more about being accepted by his billionaire peers than actually having a winning football team.

This is a pile of dog**** with a logo on the side of it's helmet.

And has been since 1969.

This investor will enjoy their failure.

The Jets suck, and I'm going to enjoy it. I hope they stretch it out for a while, too.

And the responses are great, too:

I wish my dad never introduced me to this stupid ****ing sport and his dumb abominable football team

**** you, Dad

My dad was a Giants fan

**** me

My dad was a Packer fan.

I'm the biggest idiot of all of you.

Jets suck. I can't wait to see them get their asses kicked next week. Bunch of heartless ***s.

As I have told my kids being a Jets fan builds character.

It sets you up to understand life is full of disappointments.

And my personal favorite:

I was in a car accident today and was in the hospital and getting morphine so I didn't get to watch the game tonight. I am going to send flowers to the lady that hit me.
I know I'll never stop being a Jets fan but maybe I'll just get lucky and have more car accidents.

This is another gem of a thread right here. Jets fans begging the team to cut Bryce Petty... so that he has a chance to play football for a better team. I am not making this up. :rotfl1:

Macc... Trade or Cut Petty ASAP!

Cmon Macc. Have a heart. This team doesn't have a fckn clue how to develop a Qb. They refuse to upgrade perhaps the worst Oline in the game. The hit Petty took tonite is the second time the Jet Oline has tried to kill him.

What has Petty ever done to you Macc? Why do you hate this kid so much that you won't trade him but have no real plans to keep him? You want Hack because he's your second 2nd round pick? Fine. Trade or Cut Petty so he can get picked up by a real team, with a real CS.

Give the kid a chance and trade him Macc. That way, you can have Hack take all the time he needs to become the next Peyton Manning.

#FreePettyNow!

Great.. then cut or release Petty. I'm pretty sure there are teams out there that can coach the kid up. Let Hack get killed behind this Oline and dumb assed CS. Send Petty to a team with a real CS and a history of grooming young talent. That is certainly NOT the New York Jets.

Well, since he's not Farve, Macc should trade him for a bag of chicken nuggets.. I don't care how Petty gets away from this fckn gulag of a franchise as long as he does.

I think the Saints would be a great fit for the kid. He could learn a new system from a potential HOF Qb in a competent atmosphere. Trading Petty would be the best Christmas Gift Macc could give Petty.

Trade? Hes not worth anything. He is also the best qb we have on the roster. Think of that. We couldn't trade him for a sack of **** and he is our best qb. The future looks bright.

It all comes down to the fact that this teams coaching staff does not know how to properly evaluate QB's or develop them.

Complete ineptitude.

I don't want Petty to wind up like David Carr or Joey Harrington... Those names sound familiar? I'm trying to save the kid from an organization that doesn't have a thimble full of knowledge about Qb's, how to groom them or build around them. Given their backgrounds, Neither Macc or Bowles have any idea WTF they're doing on offense and at times appear to be winging it.

There is no Qb past, present or future that can flourish with the New York Jets as presently constituted. We are a Qb graveyard and has been since Pennington.

The first and last posts I just quoted... were from the guy who runs Gang Green. :sidelol:

Maybe its my imagination but wasnt there once a thread on FH claiming we should have hired Bowles instead of Gase...?

How about 2017, Jets fans?

Looking ahead to 2017 schedule

It is one thing that our roster is a complete mess with only some bright spots on it, but our next year schedule doesn't look good too.

KC, SD, ATL, CAR, DEN, OAK, NO, TB, AFC South 4th place (JAX), AFC North 4th place (CLE) + our div rivals

At least we will get a win against the Browns (maybe?)

Jax and Browns fans be like

At least we get to play the Jets.

At least we stand a chance in two of those games (CLE/JAX).

Can we fast forward to 2018?

Won't be any better then either...

A couple from their game thread:

Why can't we find a WR like Landry in the 2nd rd like Miami did. Instead we get WRs Hill and Smith with our 2nd round selections

THIS FREAKING O LINE JUST GOT PETTY MURDERED!
